Problems and more problems. There are people who think this is normal and find it fun. Am I wrong? It seems that Zidoo only works correctly for certain people, one or two. Am I wrong?

 

Probably the best way is to use NFOs then you can define exactly how the files appear.

Unfortunately I'm afk for the next two weeks in Italy so I can't send you a sample.

 

Played / tested many Mkv via installed drives no Subtitle starting issue displayed etc for me.

 

There's no problem, I can wait peacefully. I would appreciate it if when you return you can send me an NFO file so that I can open it and edit it with information from my videos. In the meantime I wish you a good stay in Italy!

The next issue I have is that I have two media servers and Zidoo connects to them fine via SMB, however, I cannot get the player to re-scan the second SMB share. No matter what I do it always re-scans the first SMB share. Eve if I go into the second SMB share and select scan it defaults to scanning the first SMB share and ignores the second.

In addition to this, I have deleted and added a movie on the share it can scan, so while the new movie was added fine by the scan, the Poster Wall still has the reference to the deleted movie which I can't seem to get rid of.

Do you have to do a separate refresh somewhere else so the poster wall updates correctly?

 

Hello, I've just received my Z9X 8K and globally happy with it since I've installed the 1.1.47 beta firmware to solve some of the main issues. Still, I have remaining ones:

- movies in 1.77 ratio format are not full screen on my 16/9 projector, I have small black bars at the top and bottom of the image, whatever the movie I tested. Changing the ratio in the option during playback has 0 effect. Is it a known issue ? I've ripped myself the movies and using the same movie with the disk on my Panasonic bluray player provides full screen as expected.
- some of my movies are visible in the list mode when I'm going in the "source" menu but not in poster mode. I've tried rescanning the source but some movies are never visible in the poster mode. For instance, when scanning the source, it currently see 89 available movies but the poster mode only shows 65. I've gone in the unmatched section to tag them manually but it still lacks some of my movies after that. I'll try deleting the source and rescanning it from scratch to see if it's fixing the issue but I'm concerned I'll have to do that every time I'll add some new movies.

At last, I had a small bug during playing a 4K Remux MKV with Atmos soundtrack yesterday. We did a pause for 5 min in the movies and when playing back, I had stuttering (it's a 23.974 Hz movie). I had to navigate back to the movie's details and playback again. The movie was then played properly as expected. I didn't have any issue while pausing for a couple of seconds nor fast forwarding or back.

The power button LED looks great on the UHD8000 but it’s very disturbing in a black room.
We should be able to turn the LED off when choosing the DISPLAY OFF mode.

 

I've found that if I name the movie files in the format 'movie name (yyyy).mkv' HT5 finds 99%. So for example

'The Batman (2022).mkv'

 

Thanks, blenky! I'll use this trick to optimize my naming. But my issue is that some movies aren't even referenced in the poster mode once the library has been scanned.

 

You can try tiny media manager to help you

I have a weird issue on my Z3000 Pro. After booting, without launching anything and no matter where I am, even while I’m in another app like ZDMC and a movie poster selected, if I push the PLAY button on the remote I will hear a song playing. It is in fact resume-playing from an album I played 2 days ago, after I turned the Z3000 Pro on or off multiple times and never launched the Music app again.

Probably not a bug, but some settings somewhere. I understand that we can listen to music anywhere outside the Music app, I would like that also, but I did not expect for it to reserve the PLAY button exclusively to itself. I mean, I did not even launch the Music app since the device was booted.

Can someone help me the settings to change this behaviour?

 

That’s by design - pressing play while in UI will invoke the current playlist in Music 8 to play in the background.

I’ve asked for a toggle for this in settings as it can be a bit annoying at times.

 

Just as an update: for me now, since several days, everything is stable and in sync with the +75ms delay (with any video and audio codec). Obviously it's not normal, but at least it works.
I'm not facing the subtitles issue several of you are reporting, but yesterday evening I instead had the black screen issue and Atmos track muting every 10 sec, some of you reported, half way the playing of "American Hustle". I stopped the movie, play backed again and everything was then good till the end.

Yes I get that when using SmartTube. I can't use the pause button or it will start music player!

 

Yep, thought the player was possessed by some demon the first couple of times.
