I got the Nugs apk off my Samsung today using this
I installed the apk on my A6 but the app won't open. Some incompatibility?
apkmirror does not have nugs, apkpure does.. is apkpure safe to use? anyone have any success with nugs?

 

I haven't tried yet. I'm lousy at the more "computer" oriented stuff, so I come here after others have figured out the hard stuff for me.

I've also had way too many other things going on in my life so experimenting with the A6 has fallen behind on my list. Hopefully next year I'll get back to it.

Edit: and SiriusXM doesn't sound half bad actually. Too bad the fancy play screen isn't supported.

 

I'm searching for ways how to turn DMP-A6 to a Chromecast device. I found an app called CastReceiver and it works, but it's a (5 minutes only) trial installation and there's no way how to buy the app.

Is there any other app which you could recommend..?

 

I tried plexamp which I bought and use in my car to play my music through cell service. It sounds terrible on the A-6. The plex (beta) works great. It seems to compress the sound.

I have a doubt here... when playing a DVD-Audio on VLC as a disc, you can only access the DVD-Video (DTS/PCM) but not the MLP tracks.

Do you mean you copied the DVD-A \AUDIO_TS\*.aob files to the A6 and VLC managed to play them?

 

No media player or media streamer will decode MLP tracks. But there are programs to extract them and next convert those to FLAC. That is what I do as these often sound amazing.

Actually VLC can play DVD-A .aob files since v1.1.2 (2010).
Tried yesterday on my Win 10 and it works, detecting MLP codec and playing them successfully.

Only problem is that they are a split of the whole DVD-A contents, in chunks of 1GB with no chapter list info.
You need DVD Audio Explorer to get the correct split.

 

Does that work with VLC player sideloaded on Eversolo too?
For me Windows on a PC is not regarded a dedicated media player despite a NUC can be used as such.

 

Not sure it was mentioned but VLC on the DMP-A6 will gladly load a DVD ISO file and play video + sound.

Originally 48kHz/16-bit but playing up-sampled at 192kHz (confirmed by the DAC) from the A6.

Kind of FUNKY to see Jamiroquai playing video on the A6!

So far it has worked with all the DVD ISO I threw at it: PAL, NTSC, R1, R2, ALL Region.
The menu navigation can be a little rough though, but the "Jump to Chapter" from the pop-up menu does help.

Now to the more challenging part... DVD-Audio ISO that VLC can play on Windows in DVD Video mode only.

King Crimson – The Power To Believe [DGM KCSP15]

The ISO will load... but only in DVD mode (LPCM+DTS) and when DTS is selected, it skips to the next LPCM choice.



AOB files will load but doesn't provide CODEC information, I don't know what bitstream is being played.

Always in 192kHz.



VLC will however play MLP files in stereo/down-mix stereo still at 192kHz but it's just easier to extract them as WAV/FLAC to play them 2.0/5.1 normally.



So I cannot claim DVD Audio as a success, it's only playing the DVD section.

 

We can add Amiga Mod Player to the list of Apps playing just fine!

VLC can play MOD files as well but is rather bland, more fun with AMP!

 

Added: Apple Music (Up to version 4.6 as 4.7 gives “Not support rooted device”)
