Sideloading (streaming Music and other) APP's: Aggregated list!

The device stripped Android OS version does not support the "Google Play Services nor Google Play Store".
These neither can be installed manually.

This OS uses APP' versions for Smart-Phones as it primarily uses touch control and not the Remote Control (+Voice Commands) like common for Android TV based APP versions.
Using an Android Tablet or an Apple iPAD as the new remote is highly recommended.
Most sideloaded APP's will work only via touch control. One can use the front panel directly for that but most will prefer using the Eversolo Controllet App set to "scan" mode.

What still can be run by individual manual installation

Disclaimer: It is regarded illegal/undesired by Google and may cause side effects!
As "Google Play Services" is not active there is no automatic updating. You will need to that also manually if desired.

Sideloading popular additional Streaming Music APP's plus any general purpose APP's is reported to work in many cases.
I will facilitate updating this topic main page here.
Just report what was tested an proved to work fine and I will copy the relevant part to the list.
I suggest to conveniently add a link to the APK that proved to work for you as multiple Android OS versions may exist. When you see my "Like" then it has been included in the list.

Potentially Eversolo can use the list to enhance the bundled/tested optional App's.

Two methods to sideload an APK:
1) To sideload an app, download the APK (Android version of app installation file), then type your DMP-A6 IP address in your browser using port 18888 i.e. 192.168.x.x:18888
2) Copy the APK to any folder and use the File browser in "Cast Mode" to install it manually by just clicking on it.

Remark: Any .xapk file is compressed. Change the file extension to .zip, unzip and load the enclosed .apk file as normal

HiBy Music (difficult to control with A6 as it is designed for use with remote controls)

Is api something you sideload? Someone mentioned using Qobuz api.

 

An API (Application Program Interface) must come from Eversolo.

Yes it is.

But there can be improved sound quality using the official app. At least when comparing BubbleUPnP vs EverSolo control app the sound is a little different and i prefered the EverSolo app sound. Haven't compared now with Side loaded app but on my Cambridge CXNv2 streamer casting chromecast from official app clearly sounded better then using BubbleUPnP or Cambridge Audio own app. Also the EverSolo app have poorer resolution on album art. So could be worth for some but you dont need to put it on the list if you dont want.

They don't do it automatically?

 

The same way you install them. Manually.

Sideloading is installing APP's manually bypassing the Google Play Store.

 

Radio Paradise (rp) would be nice to have.

 

RP is a bundled APP. Click on it under APP's and it will be installed for you (Cast mode) .

 

Thanks, but the only app bundled is BBC sounds, CD, SetUpWizard and Update.
