so if my DAC (Denafrips Pontus II 12th support DSD1024, PCM1536 On USB & I²S Input) should I set my DSD Audio (Source) to "Native(DSD Native)" ?
Just last night I introduced my A6 into my main system to use it as a streamer over USB to my Aqua La Scala DAC. I automatically set it to DoP because that is the setting my Metrum Ambre uses, albeit that is connected to my DAC by i2s using an RJ45 “rollover” cable. Specifications and figures are not really my thing but I get the impression from the figures on these images that I should set my USB output to the Native setting. Would that be correct?
I'm setup the same as you but when I switched (last night) to DSD Native, it played fine. Although I likely won't get to experience (or need to) DSD since it isn't supported in Tidal.
I shouldn’t have been surprised because it is a ladder DAC and I was told they couldn’t handle DSD natively but when I saw the figures I challenged convention!
I have a Denafrips Pontus II 12th (R2R) and it supports DSD64 / 2.8224MHz (DoP) on Coax/AES/Opt Input and DSD1024 / 45.1584MHz * On USB & I²S Input. I'm using USB and i2s connection.
Does it not do some trickery when playing DSD? I remember a review of a Holo Audio DAC that had a extra processor on board, I think!
well that's the thing...I'm streaming Tidal which doesn't have DSD so the highest I get is 44.1 to 48kHz, FLAC or MQA via PCM.

Hello all, I received my Eversolo Master Edition yesterday and first set everything up and installed an SSD for my music. Playback of Apple Music in HiRes lossless works perfectly and the device is good and easy to use. What I can not manage is the playback of DSD files through my connected McIntosh amplifier. It has the DA1 DAC module and processes the following according to the manufacturer: "Supports high resolution digital music up to DSD256 and DXD 384kHz via a Quad Balanced 8-channel, 32-bit/192kHz DAC." However, during playback, the DAC only displays PCM352.8KHz. Is there any special setting I need to consider? I have tried DSD native and DSD over PCM, screenshots attached. Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany Sven
