Maybe check your permissions on the NAS. It could be you have a different IP on the new box and you have previously allowed this IP access to you NAS? Failing that change the permissions on the relevant folders on the NAS to allow 'ALL' user access to see if this works??

Is access via SMB or NFS?
I was getting the same unknown error message until I remembered that I had to add access permissions for the new 8K box.
For Synology Diskstation, it's: SharedFolder > [your media folder] > Edit > NFS Permissions > Create > add Zidoo box IP, Read/Write, map all users to admin, check Allow connections..., check Allow users..., Save.

Why TV led as earlier boxes had player led as suggested option?

As it says, these settings are a starting point.

Hey up Mark - ( @Markswift2003 ) - may I ask if you've updated the settings quoted at the start of this thread following the firmware update? I ask cos I'm starting now to change things around following my return from France and Spain and I had already printed them out before the update. Cheers

Even today I don't understand which is better to use, if LLDV or TV-LED. When I try to change, I can't understand if there are differences for better or worse...

I have an LG OLED TV. I can't see any difference whether I use TV Led or LLDV! Then again they say it's fake TV Led as the DV processing is still done on the Zidoo before sending it to the TV? Whatever the PQ is great so I don't really care.

Nothing pertaining to the fw update - just added some blurb about backup/restore.

Generally TV Led is considered the way to go but in all honesty I doubt you'll see any difference between the two - if you see a difference choose the one you think looks better, if you don't (and I wouldn't expect you too) then pick either one.

Hello, is it possible to copy files from the NAS to the hard drive installed in the device via the website? Thanks

If you are Network connected then Yes - I have a mixture of Internal Drives, External ones and 3 x NASs and have no issue

After logging in to the website 192.169.50.9:9528, I only see the drives connected to the device, not the NAS. You can probably do it, but only via Samba on Windows.

I use NFS - always have. You have a choice in the Zidoo but you must engage Samba in settings to see anything then either read via NFS or SMB

You can't use the Web interface to move files

I have a Z3000 Pro, I can see the NAS server shares directly on the device, whether via NFS or SMB. I wanted to not be tied to the device and be able to browse files on my laptop. Then I have to use the 3.5 drive bay.

You should be able to browse your NAS drives on your laptop?

That's right, copying between the laptop and the NAS and Z3000 Pro is not very efficient. A much better solution is to buy a 3.5 disk bay.

Same for Samsung users. Eventhough their soundbars support DTS, the TVs don't pass through DTS. And the only way to get their Q-Symphony to work (that's the only way I can tolerate my soundbar over the AVR).

Wish there was a way to pass it down to the customers who need it like Microsoft does in Windows with their Atmos/DTS:X and HEVC/HEIC plugins.
Of course implementing such a system might not be feasible for such a niche use case but if there were more uncommonly-used features that require licencing, the development cost maybe worth to pass the cost to consumers
(say someday dolby vision --> HDR10+ becomes possible in a licenced way in a perfect world :) )

+1 Infuse did these on Apple TV. It’s something like 5$ for Dolby and another 5$ for DTS license activation. Not a problem for customers, who needs that.

P.S. Dune HD Pro One 8K Plus support transcoding HD Audio to LPCM 7.1 (and also has additional 2Gb RAM) for a few tens bucks more. So maybe Zidoo will do something with this.
