Potentially a dumb question, but is there a way to get Kodi/the Plex add on to be in HDR? It would prevent the HDMI sync when playing HDR content since it’s all currently in SDR

Yeah, that's complicated ... I chose to fork my repo from the one that is somewhat maintained by pannal which is based on the "official" Kodi Plex addon. I submitted some of my early changes that weren't related to the zidoo but haven't heard anything from pannal so I'm not sure if/when he'll pull in those changes. Until I see that get pulled in I'm holding off putting up more pull requests

I don't think so, or at least I didn't see an option for it in the Kodi menus.

I got this up and running earlier tonight with the help of @fnhanks . One thing I noticed is that the "Movies" view does not display collections inline like the Plex web and desktop apps. HT4 and Emby do this as well.

Instead of "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises", there's a "Dark Night Collection" with the three movies inside in the normal Movies view.

The filters allow for "Collection", but that pops them up in a list to select rather than showing them inline.

I searched the thread and didn't see a mention of this. Would it be possible to implement?

Thanks for the work you've put in here :)

New ZidooPlexMod version 0.1.6 that should hopefully address some of the playlist and shuffle issues that @tps700 was seeing. Although I couldn't reproduce the show shuffle issue on my end, it worked just fine for me. @tps700 can you try out this new version and see if it works any better for you. Also there is a setting that was on by default called "Visit media in video playlist...", basically it didn't have any shuffle support at all so I think that's what you were seeing. If you turn that off then the playlist plays more like a playlist where it will automatically go to the next entry in the playlist(or shuffle to the next one). It seems like the setting was intended to allow you to visit the pre-play screen before every video but in reality it only plays one video and then dumps you back into the playlist for you to select another(or pick shuffle again to start somewhere else). Since it seems kinda broken at this point I turned it off by default but of course anyone that already has ZidooPlexMod installed will still have it on even after you install the new version so make sure you go out and turn it off. It's in the settings that you go into BEFORE you start ZidooPlexMod by hitting the menu button on the remote instead of starting ZidooPlexMod.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Not sure if that will be easy to do or not, I'll take a look when I can. I don't like it when the movies are put into collections like that so I have all of that turned off. I might have to start up a test plex server instead of using my regular one so I don't mess everything up with collections :D

New version of ZidooPlexMod(version 0.1.7) is available. This adds support for inline collections. @fattire can you check this out and make sure it's working like you think. As I mentioned I don't use the collections so I'm not super familiar with how people expect them to work but I tried to copy how the mobile android version handled them.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm supposed to be looking for collections. Typically, when I would go in let's say movies it looks like the attached picture.

Depending on your Plex Server settings you might see the collections inline when the view type is "movies" or "shows". You can see which view type you're currently browsing in the top right corner, the second dropdown. Or you can just display your collections by clicking that view type dropdown and selecting "collections".

    @bowlingbeeg

Thanks for fixing season shuffle support, this is awesome! Playlist shuffling support still isn't functional past the first shuffled episode, but if I'm a minority user of the feature it's not a big deal since I have the native client for that.

The automatically skip intro and skip credits feature in ZPM, this is just cosmetic only from the original version correct? Support for skips would be the other killer feature for me missing from the native client. Appreciate all you are doing for the community.

Got that helped so I went into Movies, then on the top bar as you suggested clicked on Movies, which brought me to a dropdown that said Movies - Collections - Folders. Just in case anyone else was trying to find Collections.

    Great job looks good!

This works just fine for me but maybe if you gave me more details on what types of media you have in your playlist(movie, shows, music, etc) I can try and recreate here. I will say that the shuffling isn't the most random I've ever seen. In my dummy playlists of only a couple of movies it often does a couple in a row before it jumps to something else. I'm not sure if that can be fixed or not.

Yes, I haven't had a chance to look into that yet. I should add that I'm not optimistic that I'll be able to support it though because once I give control over to the zidoo player I don't have much control of the video being played. So I'm not sure if I will be able to pop up any messages while the video is playing.

Apologies I should have been more specific. PTZ substitution has a TV Only SMB Share, Playlist is TV only as well. To recreate behavior create any playlist with multiple TV Seasons, shuffle. Native client will generate a "True random" shuffle from episode to episode, ZPM will correctly shuffle one time then play next episodes in sequential order. Hope this helps.

Yeah I just tried it again on my setup and it works. I'm wondering if you're not on the latest PlexToZidoo. If you're on an older version and have the "Auto play next episode" option enabled then it's possible that's what's automatically going to the next episode. That was fixed in version 2.0 of PlexToZidoo.

Thanks for the heads up on Auto Play Next Episode, I was already on 2.2 but I did toggle that disabled and reboot, still same behavior but I'm happy to stop here and keep it as a just me issue if no one else is complaining. Thanks again for all your help tracking this down.

Oh I bet I know what the issue is, not sure why I didn't think of it before but I bet this is related to the "Visit media in video playlist instead of playing it" option. I mentioned it in this post: http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...native-zidoo-player.94714/page-21#post-198358 ... can you try disabling that and see if it then shuffles the playlist like you expect?

Sorry for the delay. Finally got a chance to test this and looks like it's working great. Collections show up with the same artwork as the Plex web UI. Items in the collections also use the same sorting. That's great for the few collections I have with custom sorting like Star Wars.

Thanks so much for the feature addition!

New version of ZidooPlexMod(0.1.8) has been released
    • Support play and shuffle of entire collection
    • Add auto skip support for credits and intros
One thing to note about the auto skip features is that I can't display any windows over the zidoo player so I can't display a nice "skip credits" button or anything. Instead this will automatically skip over the credits when the setting is enabled. It will remember the last skip it did so if you have to go back because it skipped something important it won't automatically skip forward again until a different credit or intro is detected. It's the best I can do, hopefully someone will find it useful.

    A little issue with collection:
When I jump into a partially watched collection, all movies are marked as watched.
If I jump into the unwatched film and back again, the unwatched symbol is there.
This is also the in the old PlexMod version of pannal.

    Edit:
This issue seems to be solved :)
But now in the collection view the unwatched symbols has gone, which worked in v1.6.

Thanks, this piece of software just keeps getting better.

The unwatched status on the collection view wasn't really working on v1.6 so when I went to look into fixing it I decided to look and see what the android plex client did. It does not display the unwatched status for an entire collection so that's what I did here. The way the server works when querying for all of the collections, it doesn't give a watched/unwatched status for them so I would need to actually then go query each individual collection to figure that out. That is going to be awfully slow when there are lots of collections.
