That's really really odd then and I have no explanation for it - if it was an EDID problem caused by the Lumagen then a custom EDID in the Zidoo bypasses all of that, especially when it's switched on all the time.

When the Pro was released, I had one on 24/7 for months connected Zidoo > HDFury Vetex > Denon Amp > TV and never had such an issue. In that case I used an EDID in the Vertex and not the Zidoo but it amounts to the same thing.

I cannot speak to 3d files as I do not have any, but the Pro series does not output MCH music for some reason. The prior series and the new series both do but the Pro Series does not. Which was a big reason I purchased the Z2000 last November and was never able to listen to any of my SACDs in MCH whether by ISO or by DSF or my Atmos m4a files. It would either be static and skipping or it would say it was outputting in 6 channels but only the left and front speakers would actually output anything. Myself and a few others have brought this up repeatedly but no answer has ever come and none of the beta firmwares has fixed it. Possible the SOC or OS doesn't allow it?

I ended up buying a Z9x 8K last month and it plays everything (at least full MCH on SACD ISO and DSF files, albeit in 176 PCM). If you want to send a sample of a 3d file I am willing to test to see if it plays but I am almost positive we will not get the issued fixed for the Pro series. I don't even think another firmware will be coming.

I'm ready to sue them as it is. The 1.0.95 firmware is definitely terrible. I don't know about Auro-3D over FLAC in 1.0.75, but the Jellyfish streaming tests worked here right to 75Mbps as it shipped with 1.0.64 (connection to router according to the WiFi Meter that I installed is 960Mbps with a 85/100 rating on the connection quality.

With 1.0.95 it can barely pass the 20Mbps Jellyfish test! Even my 4K hard drive movies are getting tiny blips in the audio.

It was so bad that I reinstalled my X9S and Auro-3D audio on the movie RedTails is working again (it nerds the "Auto" setting for HDMI audio not RAW, apparently. But neither worked on the Z9X Pro under 1.0.95.

The only other thing I can do is try doing a reset/reinstall and then moving to 1.0.75. It's absolutely ridiculous they make it so difficult to go to a lower firmware version in the first place give how so many updates screw working things up!

I have no interest in the 8K version as it drop 3D video support. I don't even have a 4K projector yet, let alone any need for 8K so to me they're just killing features.

I found my updated ZDMC on my X9S can play. MKA files okay so I already have more useful functionality on the old X9S. It doesn't get an 85 signal (80 is as good as I could get), but 1080p movies stream just fine at least (I play 4K files off a local 16TB drive). At least the new backlit remote works with the X9S (only improvement I got for $260).

Hello @Markswift2003. If I understand the function right, the resolution lock Function locks the chosen resolution and the frame Rate and ignore the Edid, see description at the right side of the menu. That seems not to work properly. Please address it to the Zidoo development team.

    Thanks

No it doesn't ignore the EDID it just sets that resolution on boot but the box will always honour the EDID to stop it putting the box into modes unsupported by the display which would result in a loss of picture.

I turned HDMI CEC setting to off, but every time i turn my tv or receiver on the Zidoo also start to boot.
    Is it a bug?

Make sure to set your TV and receiver HDMI-CEC in off as well.

Thats not possible because arc needs cec to work.
Its just when cec is turned off in zidoo settings it should
not react to startup signals anymore.

In such case, I’m afraid it may work wrongly!!
HSMI-CEC function is really buggy in Zidoo boxes.

CEC can be troublesome even when turned off in a device. I had the same trouble with an AppleTV. The best way to make sure it's off is to get a pin 13 eliminator like this one. I have one on every source I have connected to my processor.

Yes, it maybe the only solution when you need others to operate and make sure HDMI-CEC doesn't work in an specific device.
A Lindy HMI non-CEC adapter will do the work.

    Hello everyone,

First of all, a big thank you to Markswitft2003 for the advice on colorimetry settings—it seems to be working well now! I had some issues with 3D ISO MVC files, but I was able to resolve them by setting the colorimetry to 8-bit. Your help was invaluable, and I sincerely appreciate it.

I have another question. Previously, I accessed movies directly from my seedbox via Kodi, using an HTTPS web directory connection, which was very convenient. Now, with the Zidoo Z9X Pro, I’m looking for a way to set up a similar connection—ideally using HTTPS like I did with Kodi—so I can stream content directly without needing to transfer it to a hard drive first.

I’ve done quite a bit of searching, but I haven’t found a straightforward solution. Do you know of a program I could install or a specific setup to achieve this kind of connection?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Best regards,
    Nicolas

Is it possible to flash an older version of the firmware that still has options for adjusting audio sync issues?
Yesterday my z9xpr0 started playing audio out of sync. I didn't change any settings period, much less any settings that could account for this. I read about options in the menu to adjust audio sync but couldn't find them anywhere. Then I read that newer firmware completely removes such options, which leaves me with ... no way to fix this issue? I'm going to have to sell my Zidoo at a loss if I can't find a way to solve this problem and I'm really unhappy about that because the z9x pro has been great apart from this one issue. But if I can't sync audio the zx9 pro is crippled. My Nvidia Shield Pro has no problem playing the exact same files with audio synced correctly. I've posted about this issue in the forum and so far have received no response.

@MrMad was it a file with Dolby Atmos?

After updating to version 1.0.95_g, I encountered issues with the Dolby Atmos tracks. I contacted support and received a link with instructions on how to flash back to the original firmware. Afterward, I updated again to version 1.0.75_G, which worked fine for me.

    Have you a link to 1.0.75 ?

No, it was a 4K remaster of The Shining with just a DD 5.1 soundtrack, but now I think it's happening on other movies as well. Like Gortex I'd be interested in a link to the original firmware--especially if it has audio sync options. I think my issues with the z9x pro started after I updated the firmware to whatever the current version happens to be ... Wish I'd left it alone.

    Hello everyone,

I’m reposting my question as I didn’t receive a response. Previously, I used Kodi to access movies on my seedbox directly via FTP, which was very convenient. With the Zidoo Z9X Pro, I’d like to keep this option without needing to transfer files to a hard drive.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to install Kodi alongside the Zidoo software to use an FTP connection while still keeping the Zidoo interface for other features?

    Hello to all

Following problem here: I have two external HDDs, WD Elements, one formated standard (NTFS with 8192 Bytes cluster size, 18 TB), the other also in NTFS but with Clusters of 2048 Kilobytes size (20 TB). This last one won't be recognized by the Z20 Pro, newest firmware. Is this because of the cluster size and is this a known issue ,which will be fixed with the next update, or can anyone help anyway?

    Thanks in advance!
