Ok - this is an odd one. And takes a bit of explaining... and I'm still not 100% sure what's going on.

So the SPR disc plays the menu in DV and usually DV menus play at 4K23 which is 297MHz, 8.9Gbps bandwidth which is HDMI 1.4 territory - never usually a problem.

However, with your EDID, SPR (and a couple of others I have) play the menu in 4K60 DV which is 594MHz, 17.8Gbps which is HDMI 2 at full chat.

But the menus work fine (or as good as they normally do...) and the reason you're getting a black screen is because there's something in you HDMI chain that doesn't like full chat HDMI 2! Probably an HDMI cable.

But, and this is a big but... sometimes the menu plays as expected at 4K23 which really shouldn't happen. But let's ignore that...

So the issue you have is twofold:

    1. Because of your HDMI chain
    2. Because of the Zidoo's BD Menu handling which we know isn't great - the menus should be in 4K23.

But if you can fix your HDMI chain, it shouldn't matter whether the signal is 4K23 or 4K60 and the problem goes away.

But also try the attached EDID - I flipped the 12-bit 422 supported flag from off to on which is something I've never really understood because LLDV is 12-bit 422 anyway, but in your EDID it was off, despite supporting LLDV, so I turned it on. Here it seems to make the BD play in 4K23. Go figure.

Bottom line, these boxes aren't great with BD Menu which is why I exclusively use MKV (that, and BD Menus are time vampires and the people who write them should be put in a room with the people who wrote CEC and shot).

    So here are the results:
With your edid_adjusted all the Paramaount uhd menu play fine! The same for all the menus who had the same problem (there was no hdmi signal and now they play fine). You are a genius!!
but there are other menus who HAD hdmi signal but displayed half of the grpahics and with great difficulty. Those still have problem......(they play fine with the samsung edid)
I only have high speed hdmi cables, the hdmi 2.0 cables i guess say hmdi 2.0 on them?

Make sure HDMI cables are "Premium Certified" with this logo. But don't pay more than a few bucks for them - there's no need to buy stupidly expensive boutique cables - there are plenty of low cost Premium Certified cables.

Unless you have extra long runs, I'd never pay more than $10 and I'd hope to spend about 5.

(I'm only using $$s as an example because they're easy for everyone to relate to - I'm in the UK and the cables I buy are less than £7 or so)

    Damn. Sorry.

I seriously HATE the boutique cable fraternity - all they do is rip people off.

And it's not just HDMI - It's power cables, RF cables, Phono cables... blah blah blah. It's almost a criminal fraternity.

In fact, no, it quite simply IS criminal.

Mark! You help people unlock the potential of a player that starts working correctly only after additional intervention. It can do this, but it doesn't do it right out of the box. Why?

There are just so many variables - it's not like a Firestick that doesn't give a rat's arse about frame rate or HDR modes and just streams low bitrate online content that doesn't need any dynamic range management.

And in a lot of these cases we're not dealing with the shortcomings of the box, we're dealing with the shortcomings of devices they're plugged into - shortcomings that the likes of Sony or LG or Denon etc are too big to deal with because they figure no-one will notice.

I have all this confusion because in my case it's the other way around!!!
I turn on vs10(hdr), but HDR movies are displayed only in Dolby Vision (I press the info button on the TV and it shows VS10 everywhere where without turning on vs10(hdr) the default was HDR!!!)

What screenshots should I take for you, so that you believe me? When I select the Dolby Vision VS10 Engine (HDR Output) item, the output of the graphical interface and all content in HDR10 format begins to show VS10)))

If you use "Dolby Vision VS10 Engine (Output HDR)" all content (SDR, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision) will be output in VS10 HDR10.

The logo at the top of the screen will be this one:
    upload_2024-5-29_18-51-40.png

And if you press info you will see this:
    upload_2024-5-29_18-52-37.png

    Or this if in HT4:

I suspect it's the logo that's confusing you.

That just means that VS10 is being used - it shows for both VS10 SDR and VS10 HDR.

So it's not really Dolby Vision, but it also sort of is because VS10 is a Dolby Vision process.

I have a more saturated picture in VS10 Engine (Output HDR) mode, but I can’t understand whether this is good or not

    OK. Last question)
What would you give yourself for Samsung?
auto mode or VS10 Engine (Output HDR)

That's the point - you have to decide yourself which looks best.

I have a Samsung display here and sometimes I use it with a custom EDID for Dolby Vision LLDV and sometimes I use it in Auto.

But you need an HDFury Vertex2 (or better) to use LLDV. The picture looks great though!
