Not really. It takes less than 30 seconds to do it my way. With your way you have to wait for the unit to turn off and reboot. Sometimes a reboot goes wrong and you have to unplug and plug it back in, etc. I'll stick to my method.

 

Anyway with fw .90 onward I haven't experienced that bug yet. Let's see what's going on!!

i had the exact problem, my Zidoo 2000 Pro couldn't recognize my 4 tb MY Book WD and 10 TB WD, but at same time can recognize another hdd 500 GB Toshiba and 2 tb WD .

This issue came with Update 0.75 I think , then I flashed the Device to firmware 0.52 , and could read and recognize hard drives included 4 and 10 TB .

Then came update 0.86 , I updated the device then the same issue was not solved the device can not recognize my 10 and 4 TB WD like the others , then I did it again hehehe I flashed the device to 0.52 and can all recognize and fast without any problem .

Now I will definitely try the new Update and will see , If will not work then back to 0.52 .

I did write thread about this issue , but unfortunately no answer , then I thought I am the only one who has like this problem .

 

Yes there is definitely an issue with Zidoo firmware updates. They appear to not have been fully tested before deploying and we are being left to pick up the pieces.

Despite the fact that there have been a number of Zidoo generations and a new one just around the corner for these media players, they seem to be an experimental device and it should be sold as such.

If sold openly as an experimental device then the average consumer out there would be aware of what they are getting into. And then they could make an informed decision to buy or not to buy.

Zidoo has the responsibility to make consumers aware of the pitfalls. However, if they did, then their business would not sell as many of these machines.

Nevertheless, I am glad mine is fixed now and I do enjoy what Zidoo offers.

I'm using this LG OLED WebOS TV. Is it possible to pair up the remote rith zidoo? Seems like the remote is Bluetooth and not infra.
