Why is this thread suddenly dead? Ppl are only talking about the upcoming 8K models and about existing ones.

Yes all a bit giddy for new models!

However Mark Swift has said there is a new firmware this month for current models.

    Hi,
Greetings to all from a newcomer !
Recently received my Z20 Pro and I have 2 basic questions before I start ripping all my purchased disks:
    - on a 48" Sony A90K, is there a difference in PQ between a full HD disk ripped in MKV and the same file downsized in MP4 (using Handbrake) ? The file size saving being substantial ...
    - as a test, 4K versions of "Mission Impossible" and "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" have been ripped in MKV, then processed by TMM to successfully generate the appropriate NFO and posters. However, HT4, although correctly identifying a saga, mixed the posters and allocated them wrongly.
Should all movies belonging to a saga be in the same folder before scrapping ? They currently are in separate folders.
Thanks in advance for your help

Interesting. Looks like some of the progress made for the new 8K models is coming to current line.

I haven't got a Pro running on test at the moment, but it looks like that's HT5.

Still nothing on SACD MCH playing back correctly. Is this a lost cause for this model line?

So this new internal alpha 1.0.88 will be the last firmware to receive?

It's stated HT5 in the 1.0.88 APK Overview... I'm curios what are the differences between the versions.

    2. Added the playback queue function

1: whenever you "summon" the timeline of the video you're currently watching, the subtitles and said timeline will take the same space making it difficult to see either one. My assumption is that this fix will make it so that when you summon the timeline (progress bar), any subtitle line its shown is moved slightly upward so as to not interfere with the other elements in display.
    2. I'm guessing Home Theatre app will now have something like a playlist that you can queue up content and then watch in that order one after the other.
    3. I've never had much problem saving subtitles on my z9 pro, maybe there's some improved functionality for those who's been experiencing problems with this feature.
    4. improved design in the posterwall app/view, maybe?
    5. don't really rate what i watch, so i dunno what issues may be there at the moment.

Those are my assumptions and maybe i'm completely wrong here :p

Yes, there is a difference in PQ between an uncompressed MKV and a compressed version (via Handbrake or similar software)...but whether you notice the difference or not is something only you can answer.

Movies in the same "saga" or "collection" do not have to be in the same folder. Any movie that is incorrect after scraping can easily be "rematched" in the HT4 app.

The Zidoo site has a HT4 user guide somewhere that does a fairly good job explaining what HT4 can do and how to use it...helped a lot when I first got one of these players.

Whats going on with the new fw… is that the same shit like the other players… so annoying

I only see new devices over devices, but your firmware has been lagging behind for years…
Please work on your software faster with more man power so that the current devices can also exploit their potential!

Operationally the same, but with a slightly different aesthetic which harmonises across the Zidoo/Eversolo players and the new control apps that will be released soon.

It's also had a bit of a tune-up under the hood.

Can Someone Tell me what Dolby Vision files the Z9X Pro won't play as Dolby Vision? I know its FEL, but what's the exact number or whatever it is that indicates that it's that file? Like what's the profile number?

This version is an internal beta and not for public consumption. I'm sure a public beta will be out shortly.
