This is great news ! I guess the greatest improvement which would would be extremelly valuable for most users, would be for the new tool to be GUI based, and also to use the actual DV MKV FEL files generated by MakeMKV (staying away from the need of using the original M2TS files).

Yes, things are moving quite fast - I am standing by for Zidoo to fix the DV-Atmos issue, in order to start converting several DV UHD disks to MKV MEL.

Interestingly I got hold of a remux of the new UHD of the first Hobbit movie. It's remuxed to DV and has Dolby Atmos sound. Played about 10 minutes on my Z9X in in DV and Atmos with no stutter!

One possibility is that the Hobbit is a FEL MKV DV file, which is only recognized and played as HDR10 on the Zidoo, thus no stutter (no matter what the audio codec is).

I understand only MEL MKV DV files are currently properly recognized as DV, which do stutter with ATMOS track.

It plays in DV on the Z9X - not HDR10. Atmos sound and no stutter after 10 minutes whereas usually stutters every time after about 3.

i can second this thou mine was stuttering within 5 mins
but both tv and zidoo showed dolby vision and dolby atmos

Restart same file choose 5.1 audio and no stutter audio lags for 30 mins i let run testing

    hi,

I watched 45 minutes of ''the hobbit the battle of the five armies'' MKV DV remux with Atmos soundtrack and no stutter, no glitches, this is one of the videos that I remuxed to remove the 2 PGS.
    (The.Hobbit.The.Battle.of.the.Five.Armies.2014.EXTENDED.2160p.UHD.DOLBY.VISION.REMUX.HDR.HEVC.MULTi.VFi.DTS-HDMA.7.1.x265-EXTREME)

My tv has switched to dolby vision, the picture quality is amazing, as well as the Atmos sound, tomorrow i watch the whole movie.

    See you

OK false alarm. This remux played fine for nearly 10 minutes before developing a a sort of video skip every few seconds. Different glitch than other DV MKV's but a glitch nevertheless

Ah well - hope Zidoo can fix this

So you got hold of The.Hobbit.The.Battle.of.the.Five.Armies.2014.EXTENDED.2160p.UHD.DOLBY.VISION.REMUX.HDR.HEVC.MULTi.VFi.DTS-HDMA.7.1.x265-EXTREME and then removed the PGS tracks?

What tool did you use to remove the PGS?

20 mins in after removing the PGS subs from Hobbit 1 and smooth as

Dobly vision /dolby atmos zero stutters or audio lags

    BUT
i have also tried this on other movies with the atmos/DV stutters and didnt solve it

heres the media info incase someone can see why its working

    EDIT
23ish mins in and theres some stutter..thou audio stays in synch
its not the serious unplayable stutter but enuff to still shut movie down in frustration
still ALOT closer to a working DV DA file

Hi, can’t believe you are openly talking about piracy, this is why Dolby doesn't support Dolby Vision in MKV.

Can you please only discuss titles you have ripped yourself please or move to PM, then if Zidoo needs to know how they where ripped you can provide the info, no one knows how these pirate copies where prepared.

Didn't work for me on The Hobbit - first film. Removed all PGS but same with them included. Plays fine for about 10 minutes then picture starts to momentarily freeze skip. Audio unaffected.

I can use PLEX on the Shield!

    Hello Ghostshadow,

why some video files have no problem after 45 minutes ? While up until now the problem with the Atmos soundtrack starts from the first minutes.

it could be due to chance...or the technique used ?

    See you

Why zidoo cant solve shuttering problem?
Or zidoo will solve this problem?
