What was working fine in the previous f/w ?

plenty had issues with audio out of synch ( i didnt ,thou )

Plenty had the random video pause, audio continue issue ( 4-5 times a day for me , 2 in 3 days for me now)

Was also the same issue randomly when playback was paused and ran in to a few changes in the SS screen ( fixed that for me in.70 by removing the 3 x 1080p SS in adding more 2160p files to the 1 x 2160p SS that was in the folder

Theres also a random bug since day 1
after say a tv epi finishes and gets to credits ,occassionally if you Exit out (bottom left of jog button) too quickly from file to folder to menu ,the box will freeze up on a blank screen for a min or so then reboot

You maybe need to try and understand Dolby Vision profiles a bit more.

I am experiencing issues with SDR, HDR, and Dolby Vision playback. During movies, the picture pauses while the audio and subtitles continue. I did not face this problem with previous firmware versions, and this is the first time it has happened to me.

In the previous firmware, I had an issue with reduced surround effects on the speakers, which has been fixed in this version. The playback quality is also better in this firmware.”

I have the same issues with Skeleton Crew - my file has same DV profile. I also had same stuttering with a completely different file - again with same DV profile. Seems to me that it is the Zidoo that has introduced the issue and not the source. Hope new firmware when we get it addresses the issue. It's really distracting.

    Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 8.1, dvhe.08.06, BL+RPU, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible -
Most common in the Russian-language segment of torrent trackers. I've never had any problems with it on the Z9X.
didn't understand your comment and what I need to figure out.
    Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 5, dvhe.05.06, BL+RPU, no metadata compression -
    quite a rare occurrence

Indeed. Profile 8 MKV rips are extremely common...

To pass it off as some esoteric format that shouldn't be supported after the latest firmware borked it is pretty wild.

At least it'd be something productive to do while your media player is moonlighting as a brick.

" I require a legal media player" to play "illegal material that i download from the internet" (regardless if we think downloading is legal/harmless or not) and I will vent my spleen on the company that is making a legal product if it does not do this!!!

    What is going on here?

You are totally right my friend.
But in first thing, the developments made this box for "play" media... And they know that principal use is watch download material from internet....
Like torrent and eMule, off course you can use it for downloading "free" iso of Linux and "free" materials.... But 99% of users do other things....
We are totally aware of this....
    It's like inventing hot water

I understand many people here that loose endurance... These box are made for 2/3 things and no other... If even these 2/3 things go badly I can understand that they are angry.

In opposite, developers know that if they do a bad job they are the ones who will lose their jobs and the brand will no longer be taken into consideration by us... So im positive that works well for next update

Maybe I'm pointing out the obvious, but I think the frustration is largely because most of us had no issues playing the same files on the Realtek boxes.

All forum members can read in this forum the long history of let's say mediocre quality software development and even worse quality control and testing.

And this is fine up to a point because me as customer can choose for this risk besides the potential these boxes offer.

However what really boggles my mind are three things:

    1) how can you release a firmware update wich creates more problems than it solves and takes a real stab at basis playability and functionality.

You can't tell me this has passed the quality and testing periode of the new firmware update.

    2) the way paying customers....the reason the company can exist....who report real world issues with their media players are sometimes treated.

You can't tell a person that his files who played flawlessly on previous boxes and many other devices are now the problem and that the issues are not the firmware.....it borders to gaslighting to me.

    3) the lack of responsibility and accountability...sorry to say but when you up the new firmware update....be a man grab your balls and own your mistake....

I am not angry....i'm dissapointed that after al these years Zidoo still is not capable of delivering stable software for basic playback and functionality on release of their media players.

First....don't hide behide the bèta version check box disclaimer.....it only serves as a shield to prevent an in depth discussion about the real issues Zidoo is having for years in their software development.

second yes you are absolutely correct...this is the risk I as a customer can take and took and by saving this I am taking my responsibility.

three nonetheless checking the bèta version box does not obsolve Zidoo from the responsibility of developing a stable and functional software environment on release of a new media player.

And here lies the crux....because this does not take place....each and every time it takes about 18 to 24 months of russian roulette with firmware updates before the player becomes stable enough.

When is Zidoo not only taking responsibility for this and taking action to resolve this?

I started to answer and then decided against it. It's a circular and pointless conversation when you've already decided not to listen.
