Yeah if I don't they show up pillar boxed in the middle of the screen and tiny. Or they are stretched or sometimes too narrow. Very rarely are they correct. At least on my displays. Using LG OLEDs, C6 and C2. I have a lot of older concert dvds and live bootlegs I watch and most I have to adjust the aspect ratio.

I am just watching a movie with 24fps (SDR, 1080p, no VS10) which is the standard fps value for most of european (cinema) movies. And I agree...after approx. 10 min. heavy and arrythmic stuttering began. Pause/Play does not fix it but Stop/Start. Happened 2 times for now and I am only on minute 39 of 100 of the movie. Using a z9x 8k.

Can any1 confirm that stuttering also appears with 23.976 fps or 25 fps?

None of the programmers have the slightest problem viewing. And there were none on firmware 1.1.70. Damn it! Nobody paid the slightest attention to what we wrote here to firmware 1.1.70 about freezing and stuttering!

On the Zidoo phone app is there a keyboard function on there? I can't seem to see one, and if not can someone tell the devs to implement this?

I own a Zidoo UHD8000 and I am on 1.1.70 beta. No issues regarding freezes or stuttering so far (even the problematic file posted on mega works flawlessly)… just online YT trailers not working. I am thinking about updating to beta 1.80 or not. Are the issues mentioned on this thread affecting most UHD 8000 users too?. Another question, I am a YT Premium subscriber, has anyone could help me clarify if SmartTube allows login (thus getting Premium advantages) and if 8K HDR does work too?
Thanks for your help and patience. Very happy with the player so far.

Yes you can log into your Google account using SmartTube. Not sure about 8K HDR.

Still getting the issue when playing DV the screen goes blank and audio drops out for about a second. Have to stop\restart to fix or it will just keep happening every minute or so. Had this in last firmware at least.

Working fine but I cannot play 24p videos at original frame rate…. Has someone got it right?
    Thanks a lot!

With all due respect to you, but I have to say:
    1. 70% of 4K WEB-DL Dolby Vision that I download from the web have Profile 8.1!
    2. I have NEVER had any problems with 4K WEB-DL Dolby Vision, Profile 8.1 files on the Z9X! NEVER!
    3. Let's not come up with excuses for the new box and blame the files. After all, we are not stupid people and we understand perfectly well that the problem is not in the files, but in the firmware (I really hope that it is not in the box components).
I am very glad that the problem has finally been acknowledged. Although very late! Now it is up to the engineers. We really hope that they will solve this progressive problem. I had three video freezes with audio continuing to play in one movie today. Three! This is unacceptable!

Is it possible to flash the Zidoo Z30 with a previous firmware?

So after watching The Last Jedi last night with 7 freezes during the movie....for me and for now there is no more fun in using Zidoo for watching movies.

Untill this firmware mess is sorted out I will stick to my Reavon UBR-X110 for flawless and enjoyable playback.

the Release grp or another will either fix what ever error they added in their rush to be first to release a webdl , or another grp will release with that or similar ,to show theirs doesnt have the errors in playback

I have to preface this by saying I have absolutely no knowledge about software development. Still, I don't understand how it is that something that was working perfectly fine in a previous firmware can be totally borked in a subsequent firmware.
I'd expect a few minor bugs with new features/functions, but we shouldn't have to expect major (albeit temporary) regressions with our software.
As an (ex) long-term Kodi & OpenElec/CoreElec user, I don't recall ever having these kinds of issues with software/firmware updates.
I'm not angry at the developers (maybe a little frustrated), I'm just genuinely curious about what's going on behind the scenes. Is it unreliable/complex hardware or inexperienced developers?

The thing is that autoframerate (automatic synchronization of the video stream frequency with the screen output frequency) does not work on SmartTube. I highly doubt that this function works anywhere except the system player Zidoo. Developers ignore this problem (although they have repeatedly received reports of this feature not working in third-party applications). The only thing you can do is set the frequency to 24fps manually. Sorry for the bad English
