ZIDOO 8K Media player coming soon.

I've never quite understood the use of the HDFURY boxes with the ZIDOO products.

Both your projector and receiver are upgrades from my JVC X570R and DENON 6700h... but they share a similar pedigree.

I simply use one of Mark's supplied EDIDs in my ZIDOO Z9X and keep my projector in HDR mode...I'm assuming that this EDID will be one of the presets on the new box when it ships...

LLDV just works.... no need for the HDFURY product in the chain... unless I'm missing something..

 

When the Zidoo "Pro" line came out the zidoo's switched android versions and ever since then the native plex app won't allow you to select an external player. So I really doubt it will work on the new lineup. That's why I have been maintaining a forked version of PM4K that does use the native zidoo player so that at least we can access our Plex servers and not have to have maintain two libraries. Although with the new zidoo plex client maybe people will want to use that instead. All depends on how good it is and how well maintained it is.

 

My understanding is the HDFury is needed to add the HDR flag so that the projector knows to switch to HDR -vs- SDR otherwise manual switching is required.

My projector is set to auto switch based on input...i.e SDR, HDR, HDR10+. And each mode has its own settings....HDR is set to Frame By Frame DTM. Unless I misunderstand....setting the Zidoo to LDDV will put out SDR...not HDR so the projector will not know to switch.

On every single new lineup model over at Futeko , under "video player" section in specs it lists mvc3d at 23.976 Hz. Every single model! It's infuriatng. Please have a sit down with Simon and get this cleared up for the sake of world peace ✌️ He has already sold out first batch of some of these models, Would hate for those returns because of false advertising on features.

MVC 3D? As per my knowledge the new Z9X 8K can't do 3D at all because the new chipset/processor doesn't support....

 

It was more or less a joke...

 

They are not the only one but ok, so far only them list them for preorder

 

They can do SBS and top/bottom 3D variants but not MVC 3D which is the real thing used by BD-3D.

 

You mean it can detect the SBS and TAB and send 3D signal to TV, triggering the 3D mode ON?
Also, The 8K models do not have the 3D feature/option when we press the setting button like Z9X pro which can also convert 2D to 3D.

I'm curious how Zidoo is delivering new product with no download firmware in its website. Actually they are showing this 8K boxes in the website Products section only.

 

Besides, Zidoo Germany marks on its site 14 day deadline?!

 

Why do you absolutely want there to be firmware available in the download section of the site,
for a machine that has just been released ?

You're in the wrong universe there. We're not in the world of video games here, with the systematic "Day one patch" !

The player arrives at the user with firmware already installed and functional, for full user satisfaction.
The firmware will appear in the download section, with the arrival of the first update.

A bit of patience !
