I hope that’s not the objective here to compete with other streaming services boxes. Plenty of those around including every TV and BluRay player you buy right now. Zidoo was always a media player for your own library first with multi hard drive connections and build in NAS support. I hope this fundamental direction stays the same.
Sadly they will go where the money is its business ........ But im sure it will remain as a Quality Media Player thats for sure .
It seems these new Z series are attracting a new breed of users im seeing Just adding a Netflix playback of sorts ticks a lot of peoples boxes excuse the pun A family member is eyeing this Z10 Pro so can get Netflix in HD alone . ( coming from a X10 )
I think for those who want to use streaming services like Amazon prime, Netflix, Disney+ or Plex a Fire TV 4K for 30-60€ make more sense.
I think most people on here agree with that. For me it will be purely for playing locally stored media on my NAS. However it will be interesting to see how capable it is as a streamer running Android TV 9.
Think we need a dedicated forum for these now that they are getting in to people’s hands. By the way I hope ZDMC does work on these as my movie collection is organised through Plex.
True. I read on Futekos site "At launch Zidoo Z9X will support Android TV versions of Netflix (4K, Dolby Digital 5.1) and Youtube 4K. " - and made an assumption!
I doubt very much that Kodi with its own native player will work well on new Zidoo Z9X. Realtek chipset is not supported by open source Kodi standard. ZDMC as a front end should work just like before.
Anyway this is all moot. It's performance as a player for locally stored media is key to me and I'm sure 99% of people on here.
Im confused now ...... Thought VS10 was a TV version etc To run on Android 9.0 Tv But Zidoo Z9x runs on Android Mobile 9.0 ?
VS10 is a Dolby video processing engine It has nothing to do with Android OS. The UI is the exact same as the Z9S
