V12 remote?

For those interested, I have a brand new, never used V12 remote. I ordered it for the UHD3000 but then bought the UHD8000, so I have two. I would like to post an ad on the forum but I couldn't find a specific section.

 

I received the V12 remote, but it looks very different from the photos on the website. Is this normal?

Please check the attached image. I took a photo of the 2 remotes side-by-side:
- Left side - the original Z10 PRO remote, no longer working,
- Right side - the new remote.



Only the remote on the left side has clearly visible numbers and buttons. The other remote is pretty much impossible to see when watching movies in the dark.

 

The one on the right is a v12. You can tell because of the green buttons (and it's exactly not different to the one on the website).

I wonder what the little light bulb button does if you press and hold it?

 

The V12 has automatic backlighting so whenever you touch it in the dark, it will light up all buttons. That’s the main difference between the original remote and this one.

 

I'm feeling quite stupid now, because I had no idea that button would turn the back light on. Thanks for pointing that out.

But BTW, it would be useful to have some type of info regarding the remotes somewhere. I'm probably not the only person that didn't know about this. Or maybe there is?

I have no idea what most of the buttons do.

 

There is a very small leaflet in the remote box describing the various functions of the buttons.
Did you check it ?

 

By the way, has anyone noticed any difference in response between first version of V11 (yellow upper buttons) and second one coming with Z9X 8K (yellow upper buttons)? Actually the first one is responding not too accurate. It maybe for the back antennas which are not totally upright.

 

Yellow button = IR only (so nothing to do with antennas but requires line of sight with the Zidoo)
Green button = Bluetooth (so Zidoo could be hidden in a closet or a drawer)

I bought a RC V10 bluetooth to run with my old Z9X.

 

Just ordered a V12 to Zidoo.de which is free shipping from Germany to anywhere in Europe, except UK (needs to add taxes).
