Would be nice to be able to use the play/pause buttons in external apps like YouTube etc, instead of them defaulting to this behaviour.

No such issue on the Z1000pro. :D

    Call me a numpty!

I saw the menu item in settings which says "Shutdown" - rather confusing so I left it alone. So I shutdown and all is now good.

    Another Senior Moment lol!

I have two SMB shares configured but no matter what I do I can only seem to get one of the shares to re-scan. Even going into the 2nd share in SMB and selecting scan re-scans the 1st share. Any ideas ?

I put a tape on my Z3000 Pro’s power button. At least until they do something about it.

I guess it looks like a giant on the computer, this is what I saw on my phone. I’ve never used a computer when posting on these forums so I never knew.

I had those before for my blu-ray player. But I want to fully turn off the lights on the power button of the Zidoo Z3000 Pro.

I watch my movies in pitch black, that light is really bright so distracting.

With the 100% option for the opacity. you can’t see any light from the power button of the Z3000 Pro.

I see, well that tape that I already have works for me.

My Z9X 8K arrived today and wow! The picture quality and speed are great. I do believe the bitstreamed sound is better too - there must have been some trickle-down clock tech from the Eversolo.

I am currently running 1.1.38 and so far do not have stuttering, lip-sync issues with any audio codec, the forced subs work and the non-forced subs do not play if I have general subtitles set to off. I use MKVToolnix to edit the MKV headers to turn on the forced flag for subs I always want to play and don't bother with the default flag.

My question is whether 1.1.47 breaks anything I currently have working? From my reading of this thread, it seems the primary things folks are complaining about were broken on 1.1.38. I suppose I should leave well enough alone if everything appears OK. I need to find a VC-1 MKV and see how that does.

    Looking for upgrade advice

Personally I think you should stay on 1.1.38 - I think mine came on that version and I had no issues at all on my initial testing on that firmware.

Of course I had shiny new toy upgrade-itis and updated to the latest firmwares but have had a raft of issues since which I'm having to use workarounds for.

Stay as you are until the newer firmwares are more mature IMO.

Opposite opinion - v1.1.47 has no regressions I’m aware of and fixes a lot of important issues.

    what issues exactly ?

These are the issues I'm having:

150ms Audio delay on TrueHD and DTS HD MA audio tracks. (Did not notice this on initial firmware, doesn't happen on any of my other players on same setup)
Subtitles automatically displaying on every movie until manually switched off. (Did not have this on initial firmware)
Some movies play with a very low volume (only a few for me so far, but play fine on my other players)

Multiple GUI glitches (these were not tested on original firmware):
When entering field information for username/password sometimes keyboard auto-displayed sometimes not
Sometimes unable to move down to password field using either on screen keyboard or remote, have to back out and re-do
Sometimes the poster wall will glitch between a film information page, back and forth to the poster wall super rapidly which can't be fixed by backing out of app. Reboot required.

SMB / Posterwall Issues (these were not tested on original firmware):
If you have more than one SMB share, the SMB scanning whether automatic or manual will only scan one SMB share and not the other.(Spent hours trying to get this to work)
If you update a file name of a movie, regardless of how many times you then re-scan your SMB, the path in the poster wall still references the old name and so can't play movie.
(Can't seem to force the poster wall to re-scan the sources to update path/filename. Maybe there's a way.)
Player does not recognise it is connected to a Dolby Vision capable TV (via AV Amp that supports DV passthrough, with other players working fine with same setup, not had any time to troubleshoot this further. I know this works for other users as I see the option to choose LLDV / Player Led options etc)

    Workarounds:
Had to put a 150ms delay on my AV Amp to get the Audio in sync.
Have to manually select the subtitle away from 'default' to 'No Subs' on all movies first time playing using the beta firmware.

To play a file that has had a filename change, select the file direct from Files > SMB rather than posterwall or use the plex client which has no issues when you change the filename.

    Example Issue.

I have a movie but it's not a full 4k rip. I delete the movie and replace with a full rip. I amend the file name of the rip to clean it up.
    Scan SMB share to update.

If you then go directly to the new file through Files > SMB and click to 'Open Poster' there are now three versions of the film referenced, the original, the new version with the original filename and the final filename.
If you go to the Poster Wall app from the main menu, only the new version with the original filename is shown. So it knows one version has been removed but not that the new version has been re-named.

Oh and the Apple Music App crashes every time I try and play music despite setting the app as directed.
