Do you have any information from the development team on the timeline to solidifying frame rate matching? This is still a problem on the latest firmware with 23.976 files occasionally starting up as 59. It appears this happens when there is a delay / issue in the HDMI handshake and the Zidoo falls back to some default value.

If this can get sorted along with a few other minor issues these players will be very solid.

 

Hi guys, are there anyway to rollback to stable version at 1.1.38 (no G) for z9x 8k ? After updating to this beta fw, my smartube got slow and crash continously.

 

have you done a power down wait 20 secs restart since the update

I had a few glitchy things happening after it that power cycle has sorted ( common problem)

I use Polish, but File Manager is in English - no Polish translation...
File Manager menu is in English instead of Polish. There is only Polish in a few places
when I play the movie - after pressing the menu, there are subtitles, audio, advanced ... everything is in English

Can you confirm this? I don't know if it's a problem with me or if there's really no translation into Polish


In general, there are a lot of untranslated issues in the menu - much more than in his older brother...

I know that Zidoo is still practically in beta version, but what is in mine should be called early Alpha version no Beta version

Going to need more details on how to replicate this - I've never seen it.

 

I'm on latest beta and SmartTube works OK for me - same as on previous beta.

 

Is there an error log I can pull? It’s random and isn’t specific to any file type that I can tell.

If you think a frame rate bug change would show up in the log I'll recreate and attach to this thread. I also wonder if this will shed some light on the HDMI handshake issues I'm seeing with Zidoo > Anthem AVM90 > MadVR Envy > JVC projector.

 

The log reporting is for uploading direct to Zidoo - the idea is to start the log, replicate the issue, stop the log and then upload with a short description of the problem. Doesn't really work if the issue is not replicable.

How are you using the Envy and which JVC?

 

I think I can replicate the issue with the log running and note the exact time stamps.

The Envy is handling tone mapping and 2.35 scaling. I have the JVC RS1100 (NP5).

 

Captured the logs, painfully typed everything out using my remote then the upload failed ugh.

One thing does occur to me - With everything connected as you'd normally use it, download your EDID and then upload and activate it as a custom EDID - that way the EDID is always in the Zidoo and it's not having to wait for anything else to decide what's going on.

I've seen a lot of issues with EDID from esoteric kit like Anthem and goodness knows what the Envy does to it.. At least if it's static in the Zidoo, nothing else can affect it.

Personally I use HDFury Vertex 2 to manage EDIDs etc and that is great for this sort of thing.
