v1.1.42 Beta version for Z9X 8K/Z30 PRO/Z3000 PRO/UHD8000

In my case, the Z9X 8K behaves just like my Z2600 in that regard. I've tried several TrueHD music concert discs. So I wonder what could be causing the issue in your case but not in mine.

 

Just tested it myself and, yes, the 24fps frame skipping is still there. We also still have the 1080p VC-1 stuttering.
@mirror when can we expect these very annoying bugs to be resolved? I have a lot of plain 24fps content and the frame skipping is making me nuts and once again forces me to use my older and trusted Z9X

I like the new option to be able to select audio and subtitles tracks before playing in the HT app.
The fast forward remote button now works (nice to be able to switch speed), but what about rewind? The rewind button is able to lower the fast forward speed, but doesn't enable actual rewind.

 

I don't have this issue on my device (tried TrueHD 5.1 / 7.1 / Atmos). No sound delay... my setting is on HDMI Raw output

 

No such issues on my device and DTS-HD MA 1.0 just play as 1.0 and don't cause video pause. My setting is on HDMI Raw output

 

Just to answer my own question seem like my Denon amp and Sony TV don't play nice and if i select VRR on the TV it stop me receiving Dolby Vision

 

O.T. Your Denon has nothing to do with the issue. It's just your Sony TV that can't handle VRR and DV simultaneously (it's a very known limitation of the Sony sets)

 

another bug, videos in 59.94 are played in 29.97, it's unwatchable

 

Just tested a clip from Gemini Man which is 59.94 and it played correctly

 

Yes, I have quite some 59.94 fps videos and they seem to play correctly here too.

Also, for this:
43. Optimized the issue where playback gets stuck during navigation in certain films.

I noticed some of my files were pausing for 3-5 seconds before resuming when I seeked forward a little on some of them and I tested it again on 1.1.42 and they are not pausing that long anymore, just the standard 0.5 seconds. I don't know if that's what Zidoo meant by "stuck" or if they meant completely stuck and need to press stop and play again but anyway glad they are working on making the seeking more snappy like on the Z9X Pro!

28. Fixed the issue where some VC1 videos occasionally display blurred screen during playback.

I suppose Zidoo meant the blocky bugs that displayed on VC-1 videos. This has indeed been fixed so it turns out it's not a SoC bug. I thought it was since the Dune Pro One 8K does the same blocky bugs in Austin Powers but Zidoo fixed it with 1.1.42. Playback in general still stutters and lip synch issues probably because of the stuttering.

 

Yes, confirmed, the artifacting has been fixed, but VC-1 playback still suffers from frame drops.

Mark, have you been able to replicate the issue I have been having with half of my VC-1 bluray rips? Unless I set my resolution to something that uses 23.976 they never start playing cleanly. The symptoms play out like some kind of handshake issue. This happens when I use auto resolution, which sets it to 60fps. I probably have 30 of these files and around half of them do this. Let me know if you need a test file. Thanks

Edit: Also, I use resolution and frame rate matching, basically I use your recommended settings

 

Are these Full BD rips or MKVs?

 

Sorry, they are mkv's from private trackers. Also, it's something I'm not able to replicate on my Z20 Pro. It has no problems playing these same mkv's.

I tried tonight this new beta firmware, and the PGS subtitles bug size is still present, changing the size crash HT5.

 

Just tested on Dune - full bluray. Changed size without any issue.
