I'm struggling with this one - I haven't seen this problem since probably October/November last year.

Verified this weekend that this still happens on 1.0.86. Got a few minutes into the video and then frequent video/audio dropouts all of a sudden. Flipped to a different player. No issue.

Doesn't sound like this issue - there are definitely no audio or video dropouts associated with this problem, this is more like a "slowdown" in frame rate with no audio problems.

Its kinda like going through trauma after spending your money on device which cant work properly. And they keep giving you trial (beta) versions and not a single stable update. Finally switched to Dune for 4 weeks now. No issues.

I get this behavior when watching 4K HDR like every 45 mins over HTTP (vanilla jellyfin v0.15 APK + Zidoo player)

No drop outs or anything, just framerate seemingly gets cut in half, resumes by pausing and resuming

That's a different issue, presumably caused by the network. Unfortunately vanilla Jellyfin doesn't play directly, it streams via the server so it susceptible to network problems - definitely not a Zidoo issue.

I know it's a bit old and isn't likely to be updated anytime soon, but it still works fine - maybe try the Zidoo edition - that streams directly.

Browsing in the old andy jellyfin apk is soo much slower and stuttery for me
HT4 takes like half an hour to scan my library on boot and find updates (1000+ movies, 15k+ tv episodes)
Next time I watch a movie I'll try doing it over NFS and see if it makes any difference

HT4 shouldn't scan on boot. If you have Update Sources on it constantly monitors the sources in the background (you can see it doing this if you Shark it) but it shouldn't ever have to "rescan" - My feeling is this is an UnRaid issue - is something changing on the network between boots?

I've tested the latest version of HT with a 4000 movie title dummy library and it's zippy as hell now.

It's been probably 18 months since I've tried HT seriously so will check out again. The issue wasn't that the library started from scratch every time, but that following a boot if wasn't just detecting new files, but it would only see them when it goes through and checks all the files again.

I have never had such problems, but it’s been 5 days since I started having this problem. Absolutely the same as you described!
This happens in the middle of the movie after about 30 minutes of viewing, I fast forward a little (literally 1 second) and the problem disappears!
I didn't change the settings, it appeared suddenly. Tell me, did you find a solution? UHD5000 firmware v1.0.86

View from internal drive and external drive via USB. The sound does not stutter. Picture only

Hmm - things that appear suddenly like that are seldom due to firmware - usually due to environment or files.

And this issue is not something I've seen last year.

But one question - it wasn't a VC-1 file was it?

    no, HEVC, AVC/H.264, MPEG-H HEVC

Ok - that's weird. AVC/H.264 is very odd...

Is there a solution or at least some thoughts?)

    Really tricky one...

In order to fix a bug we either need to replicate it or see a debug log and this kind of issue really precludes either of these options.

There is definitely an issue with some (not all) VC-1 files, but as far as HEVC or AVC goes, I don't think this is a box generated issue any more.

What happend to the supplied debug log from on of the users here?

I know at least one debug log was looked at for this issue but I don't know what happened after that.

My UHD5000 unit has this issue and the worst thing is that Zidoo Support does not even respond.

I tried for a long time to overcome the problem. I won only with these settings:
    Display/Color Settings/4K 50-60Hz: Priority YUV420 8bit
    Display/Color Settings/4K 23-30Hz: Priority YUV444 8 bit
    display/color settings/non-4K: priority YUV444 8 bit
    Display/Color Settings/Color Range HDMI: Auto
    Display/HDR: Auto
    Own EDID: off

The choppy playback has completely disappeared.
The quality of the image has not deteriorated and it seems to me that it has even become better.

My copy of a full bluray Jurassic World Dominion 4K which has dolby vision would have lighting fluctuate. Is there still an issue with certain movies with dolby vision?
