I just installed the new firmware on my Z9S. Unfortunately the trailer function ist still messed up. My langusage is set to GERMAN. With the 2.3.80 firmware, all trailer were played fine from youtube, but only in english, though there were GERMAN trailer available. With the new firmware the Z9S behaves in 2 ways: Either a message appears saying that "there is no trailer available", or it says that "there is no trailer available" and in fat lettern "the trailer cannot be played". In variant 2, I believe that the system has found a German trailer (which can definitely also be found on youtube), but once again cannot play it as with the 2.3.60 firmware. Very annoying. I don't use local trailers and won't because of the effort involved. So this definitely is no solution for me.
WOW - that's a lot of changes - Finally after 6 months new firmware - I was thinking they had forgotten about the Z9S - Thought they had stopped supporting it - will get that on and give it a go - Hopefully it might of fixed my crashing issue when loading all my TV series into the poster wall

Loaded the firmware and did some testing Shame about the trailers I scanned all my TV series in as I had trouble with it crashing before on firmware 2.3.80 - I found that I had no crashes which was great but found that all the poster walls loaded slow even when I had populated the wall first - when going back to it the posters weren't there and to repopulate - when I removed the TV source the posters populate much faster - dont have this problem with the Z1000Pro only with the Z9S Alos disappointed that they have NOT still sorted out screensaver when paused - that feature is available on the 1690 players
does that mean what's to come? if so what would be the date? I hope what comes, because I still have the error that the information is displayed by itself during a film.
Is mediainfo being used to scan in HT.x on this firmware meaning the library is present in the firmware and the switch in the options on HT apk? It was not mentioned in the log , but I would think if they brought HT 4.x up the latest version for the 1296 SOC this would have also been injected into the firmware? Just curious? Beautiful, is it in the .apk or the firmware. Will it work on the X9s as well? assuming you sideload the HT apk? "mediainfo" That is a negative: As expected , it is buried in the firmware on the Z9S and does not work on the X9S. with the Zidoo_Poster_4.1.86 Unless someone figures out how to inject mediainfo in a rooted RT1295 , we are at the mercy of Zidoo for a firmware update to enjoy mediainfo scanning.
It is a shame and shows the customer orientation of Zidoo that they are unwilling or (unable??) to fix a major bug in x265 playback (see http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/problem-with-x265-playback.91960/ ) . The posted file plays on any player (I have 5 brands) but the Z9S and I have numerous x265 encodes with the same problem. Instead of focussing on HT which is far inferior to ZMDC they should fix basic playback issues. The only response I got from service : "Hello. Sir If you have update this firmware, you can try to restore factory setting for you Z9S. ZDMC 19.1( based on Kodi 19.1 )" As I only use ZMDC it obviously did not solve the problem.
After a few softbricks from modifying the system/lib system/bin directories on the X9S, I have reached my kryptonite. I did manage to decompress the firmware image from the Z9S and the libzidoomediainfo.so and some other mediainfo files for the bin directory and touch them and set permissions , than install the latest HT poster 4.1.86 apk but the flags for media info scanning still do not register. This should be able to be done, but i don't know all the dependencies for the mediainfo calls. I was impressed I was able to mount and unpack the firmware for the Z9S which gave me some access to all the apks on the update, but without knowing where the mediainfo extensions or libraries go, I am lost. I know enough to be dangerous and did some searching through the image to find what i did but there is something more under the hood for the mediainfo hooks to work
