I have an MKV remux that plays fine on my Z9X Pro, except that I'm not able to fast forward or rewind. When I use the nagivation buttons to jump forward or back the progress bar updates but it doesn't actually jump. Trying to change chapters also fails. I did try stripping the chapters out in case that was an issue, but no change. I'm assuming the Zidoo is struggling with something about this specific MKV, as its not a problem I have with others. Any ideas what I can do to resolve it?
Good point. Here's the info for audio and video - I removed the subs as there were a lot and I assume they're likely not relevant, but I can add them back in if needed. Mine LOTR:TT plays fine (fast forward or rewind). But i have 2 files, you have 2 stitch together in 1. File size: 111 GiB Duration: 3 h 55 min maybe something with that?
Are you saying it must have been stitched because it comes on 2 discs, or are you seeing that from the info above? The fact that it plays at all makes it seem less likely that that's the issue, but I guess its possible. Overall it does seem like the "easiest" option would be to try a different remux, but its so huge that I really wanted to avoid that if possible.
Simply remuxing the existing file in mkvtoolnix “sometimes” will display any errors. If you have the space might be worth a go? I just spotted this from the mediainfo. IsTruncated : Yes ???
Usually means the size reported in the header doesn't match the actual file size. Whatever's wrong it's obviously a bad file - possibly not indexed correctly.
Good idea. So would I just use the following command to do that: Code: mkvmerge -o outputfile.mkv inputfile.mkv I'd have space to read it from my NAS and write it to my local SSD so certainly worth a try.
It does increasingly seem like a bad file. Would remuxing it as suggested potentially resolve that, or would I need a new remux in that case?
Remuxing it without making any changes sorted it out - I got a bunch of errors reported so feasibly there'll be other issues, but for now its at least playable, and I can replace it at some point if needed. Thanks for the support!
