The new system is definitely snappier.

It boots twice as fast after a crash. And since it practically only crashes for me, this is an advantage that should not be underestimated;)!

I have no crashes with my UHD3000, normal boot was 1 second faster than the Z2000Pro.

    How many posters / films?
    I have 5k/7k.

The UHD5000 shines with the many crashes (watch my published videos). The UHD3000 only has a crash every now and then.
I am also talking about a crash boot and not a normal boot.

    Hi Mark ,

I'm using a Samsung 65Q80R panel and my panel is HDR supported.

On the Z9X it says HDR in the upper left corner and that's correct.

Zidoo Z9X Pro shows wrong movie format on screen.

But if I open the same movie with Z9X Pro, it says VS10 Dolby Vision in the upper left corner and this is wrong. Because on a HDR supported Samsung panel, Dolby Vision should not display the movie format.

Conclusion ; HDR settings are on Auto on both devices but Zidoo Z9X Pro shows wrong on Samsung panel. For your information.

    ( Zidoo Z9X Pro Firmware : v1.0.52 )

    Best regards

Is a new firmware already being planned because of the samba problem?
Formatting the hard drive to exFat is not a good option.
The content is displayed in Windows 11, but when I try to copy something to it, it keeps crashing.
    So I'm back to NTFS

Current logic for HDR > AUTO means that VS10 is used to to process the base layer of Profile 4, 7 & 8 Dolby Vision content when played on a non-Dolby Vision display.

This is wrong - it should be native pass through - I'm trying to get this changed.

Nope - these players have always been a bit flakey with subtitles - the key is only keep the subtitles you want.

  15. Is it correct that Zidoo outputs Dolby Vision in
422 12 bits when using the HDR auto setting instead of 444 12bits like my Panasonic ub9004?

  16. Is it possible to choose HDR10 output instead of Dolby Vision if a movie has both options?

Yes - the easiest way is to select VS10 HDR output in HDR options.

Yes, and this is correct for LLDV.

DV was always designed to work on HDMI 1.4 displays (at least at 23~30Hz) so TV Led is transported in an 8-bit RGB tunnel and LLDV in 12-bit 4:2:2, both of which only require 300MHz which is within the HDMI 1.4 standard.

Specification allows for LLDV in 12-bit 4:2:2, 10-bit 4:4:4, 10-bit RGB, 12-bit 4:4:4 and 12-bit RGB but most displays don't support that so those modes won't be advertised by the EDID.

If the display does support it (and as far as I remember, I've only ever seen this in certain Philips displays) you can select these modes manually in HDR settings, however there is no advantage to doing so and all you do is needlessly increase HDMI bandwidth for no gain in image quality.

  19. I will try it out and have a idea what the VS10 engine does at the same time.

  20. Thanks for the information.

Interesting that my Panasonic ub9004 chooses 444 12bit in auto settings.
