Hopefully, we will get feedback sooner than expected. https://www.facebook.com/156422455086574/posts/669779257084222/?sfnsn=mo
Expecting some bugs as per usual but hopefully stable for first release and the time we receive these units there will be a further software update . Lets see what it can do and supports
I am a bit less confident there. Zidoo had several problems moving to the Z series. Some things in fact still work better on the old series.
These issues were mostly related to Realtek's SDK, so Zidoo had to wait for them for the fixes. Since the SDK is the same now, I expect identical performance in video playback. This is irrelevant though if you are referring to Zidoo's in house developing, like HT3.0 or music player...
RTD1619DR comes with a new SDK for sure. It is even different to SDK for RTD1619DD Yes I am referring to SDK related issues. Just hope Realtek did its homework better this time.
Will this support the new Kodi updates 18.8 / 19 .......etc ? Or the same as previous Zidoo boxes [zdmc 17.4 .......] and that was the last release .
Mmm. Although no 'major' problems it appears issues from the previous Dune seems to have copied over. Some long standing issues that were never fixed. For example FF/RW barely works for full blu rays and issues with subs randomly turning on. I may ask on the official thread if they have added audio and subtitle sync which I think was available on the previous Pro. I may be wrong as sold mine awhile back
See here: https://www.zidoo.tv/Support/release_apk.html As I expected it seems formal support for KODI and even ZDMC seems to have ended with the previous models. Native KODI should run though when installed on any RTD1619 based platform. For ZDMC there might be a problem with compatibility for the HW acceleration part? We will very soon know for sure. Won't be doing any KODI/ZDMC testing myself maybe apart from firing it up to see if it runs at all. I understand this very well as they don't want to be associated anymore with illegal streaming enabled by those platforms and moving to official streaming services for Video and Audio instead. It is really one or the other market to target, they are absolutely right there. For the real KODI diehard fans there are cheaper and better platforms mostly not based on Android.
Dune is clearly still in the process of moving Sigma goodies to Realtek as both platforms are very different and is taking them a lot of time plus resources it appears. I am sure it all gets moved finally but the migration process needs to finish first. The good news for Dune customers is that the RTD1295 players will get those updates too knowing Dune. In the mean time Zidoo moves ahead with the really new stuff HT3 and MP6. Hey what about Picture Player?
Mine My Z9X is an early shipment and according Fedex arriving on monday. Soon is really soon with me.
I'm running Kodi 18.8 on the Shield TV 2019 and it works perfectly. So there is no reason it should not work the same on the new Zidoos which are running Android TV. We will see very soon.
The Z10 Pro ships later than the z9x but my money has been taken so who knows Poss it may come earlier than expected .
