This is my first Zidoo device so I don't know if this bug is present in other models.

I want VS10 Dolby Vision on all the time, not auto. My Zidoo Z9X Pro refuses to keep that setting.

Steps to reproduce with my Sony A80J going through a Yamaha AVR:

    1. Set the Zidoo HDR setting to VS10 Dolby Vision
    2. Turn off the TV
    3. Turn on the TV
    4. The HDR setting is now Auto

Sounds like an EDID timing problem...

Assuming you mean "Dolby Vision VS10 Engine(Output DV)" here?

So that setting will only be available if the EDID says the end HDMI sink supports Dolby Vision.

So at the point the Z9X is switched on, if the sink EDID does not include Dolby Vision, that option is not allowed, so the HDR mode will return to Auto.

In your list above you don't say what the state of the AVR is - so unless the EDID presented to the Zidoo on power on includes DV (ie through a powered on AVR), the HDR mode cannot match that and defaults to Auto.

Two ways to fix this - either set a power on sequence that guarantees that the Zidoo will see a DV EDID when it is powered up or simply save the EDID once DV is available and load that back in as a custom EDID.

In my case I use an HDFury device with a permanent EDID set to my specs so the Zidoo has no choice but to honour that, but a custom EDID loaded into the Zidoo will do exactly the same thing.

    Hope that makes sense...

    Thanks, Mark.

I saved the EDID of my TV when it was set to Dolby Vision VS10, then loaded it. It now keeps that setting (except when fully rebooting, which I can live with).

This has helped me with the UHD3000: Lock resolution: main interface--->display--->resolution--->lock resolution
