XLR versus RCA

    It makes sense to use a good quality double shielded RCA cable with matching connectors. I solder those myself.
    As good as a XLR Connect at my distances of 1.5 m length. :rolleyes:

    ...or do as I do and have XLR out from the DMP-A6 to RCA in to my Beyerdynamic A1.

    that brings the balanced signal out of the equation, and it's not what the OP may want...

    Hello,
    Is the DMP-A6 XLR out 5.2 Volts, RMS ? would it be safe to connect to a 4V rms XLR in ??

    When there is a disparity in levels as such, you are probably safe keeping the output lower than MAX / 0dB, otherwise you might have to adjust the input gain on the receiving device (if it is there, of course).
