X1 II Initial user test

Any update have you been able to replicate the problem I see on HD audio.. I can borrow another X1 II unit and test if you need

When i disable rockship in the hardware acceleration it works....

You don't need to disable rockchip. Disable only media codec (surface).
Or upgrade to 1.0.7
I tested zidoo x1 II with 4k 180mbps bitrate in kodi and it's working

 

Using the v1.07 firmware , I still hear audio dropouts using passthrough for HD-audio (DTS -MA , DTS HD).

Also a review by CNX-soft says the same issue

PCM audi is not passthrough.
Also not all video files are encoded by required standard h264 or h265.
Also not all receivers are compatible with all devices.
What video file you tried ?
Try to test video files from Demo World.

 

I forgot to metion that on LAN you are limited at maximum 100mbps so you need to play a maximum 90-95mbps video file.
On usb you need to have an external HDD that support power by usb.
For example i have 1 toshiba external hdd and 1 samsung external hdd.
With samsung passport ultra hdd i don't have any issue.

 

My hd audio test are just blurray movie rips and backups with Raw Hd audio streams

 

Try demo test files with same config.

Why you don'use blu ray player?

 

I like keeping my movies in a central server /nas so anyone in the house can access then .. Ideally I would like zidoo to solve the issues I know is important to my friends so I could recommend it to them and HD audio pass through is one of them.

 

it's a new device. problems will be solved. not all problems can be solved.
any device has bugs.

 

Fully understand that and one reason to buy Zidoo is that they update firmware to fix bugs . And what I point out is part of their feature list in their ads.

 

Without sample of your file, nobody can fix problem.

we will release new firmware, fix the special amplifier problem with DTS HD. and will post the test version for kodi 16.1, use the ICE958 standard for passthrough. and can use this version to test your problem.

Thanks , This is one reason to support and buy Zidoo ... Just let us know as soon as available so I can test and tell my friends who eagerly awaits the Passthrough update

 

After i tested and tested, zidoo x1 II seems the perfect device for playback video files home. Rockchip rocks this year.
Now i wish that zidoo team build a device with RK3399

Tested this week: Nvidia shield pro, Amlogic S905 two devices, DVXa decoding on pc and zidoo x1 II.
Conclusion: Zidoo x1 II in ZDMC is great and doesn't have heat issues like amlogic; some issue with ZDMC that exit in home screen but will be fixed.
