I'm only guessing here, but it's possible that there's an issue with TV Led on that particular TV and Panasonic released a firmware so only LLDV is supported in the EDID.

I know that sounds pretty wild, but I've seen manufacturers do worse...

At the end of the day, the only place that EDID could have come from is Panasonic...

So suspect that they realised that the processor isn't powerful enough for TV Led and removed it from the EDID.

A similar but much more potentially catastrophic thing happened to Sony in the early days of DV.

Yes, I've come to the same conclusion as you, hence the stuttering when I force the LED TV mode.

In any case thank you for your help

There are occasional stutters in forced CM4 in DV, but it provides the best DV quality and HDR for me. However, in SDR, whether in 4K or 1080p, the colors are worse, and there is excessive sharpness at 24Hz. When I play those films at 60Hz, the colors are fine.
I hope they will fix these issues in next FW

  8. I have mostly used my Logitech mx keys and mx keys mini keyboards for navigating my og Z9X and other equipment like the Shield my 8K took over for, but the new 8K doesn't seem to respect the escape key, so I can't back out of anything. It works in the PlexToZidoo zdmc app, but not any of the native apps, HT or main menu. No other keys on either keyboard do it and no settings change I could find. I tried one other logi bt keyboard and same thing.

Any chance that could be put on a list for a fix to operate like the og Z9X or other suggestions how to fix? Keyboards work fine otherwise.

Or is there somewhere else I should submit a request? Does Zidoo have a contact email? I'm not totally clear here where requests for fixes are supposed to go. Definitely is not a big fish fix, but I'd imagine legit enough considering they take the time to offer keyboard functionality and is essentially broken by this one small quirk.

I thought I would give a more detailed explanation of my poster wall crash I am getting on the latest beta firmware on the uhd 3000 pro, it was fine before this update.

This crash is happening every two to three minutes, it can be while I am idle in a menu or when browsing the poster wall, and there doesn't seem to be anything specific triggering it, I can go and make a cup of coffee and come back and it will have crashed or I can be changing the thumbnail for a movie.

So it kicks me back to the desktop (where file browser, settings etc are accessed) and when I reload the home theatre app all of my movies and thumbnails are gone, if I check the button on the top right that shows what drives it has access to, it's completely blank. Then in about 30 seconds it all reboots and all the drives are added again and my movies appear.

However the crash stops any process that was being done, so for example scanning a hard drive for movies, it is beyond frustrating and is ruining an otherwise great experience and great player.

That definitely sounds like the database is corrupt for whatever reason. That behaviour is not a result of the firmware but that's not to say that the database corruption (if that's what it is) isn't the result of the update process.

First thing to note with HT is always make backups and always export NFO and artwork - that way you can easily get back to where you were if you need to reset (see "HT5 Backup and Restore" section here).

If it was me I'd be doing a full factory reset (Settings/Other/Recovery & Reset > Restore Factory Settings), but I think the least you need to do is to reset HT (HT5/Settings/Library > Clear).

If that doesn't fix it then it has to be an access to sources issue, but I don't think it's that because you say that the Sources screen is completely empty when HT restarts - if it was just a case of an access problem, the sources would remain, they'd just show as invalid until such time as they weren't.

Thanks, is there any point in me doing a backup now or is it too late as it's already corrupted?
If so should I do a factory reset and just recan everything from scratch?

Good question - I'd do one for sure in case this isn't a database issue, but obviously if it is the database then the backup will just replicate it.

So right now I'd do a backup and an NFO/Artwork export then at the very least, if it all goes Pete Tong, you can get back to where you are now.

Once you've done that, I'd factory reset then scrape with NFO/Art Precedence with HT so you use the local NFOa and artwork which will get you back up and running with the same movie metadata and artwork.

Although it can be quite cathartic to scrape from scratch - well, maybe a combination of masochism and catharsism...

I have 260tb of movies and tv shows, a lot of which are anime which seems to cause more issues than anything else so it's definitely more a form of torture than some kink to do it all from scratch for me lol.

    I have 3 disks of 16 TB...

160 TB...... even if one movie weighs 100 GB, that's 1600 movies?

    1 movie 1.5 hours * 1600 movies, that's 100 days of continuous viewing, but if you watch 2 hours a day? )))
I won't have enough free time in my life to watch that)))

  20. Lol. Eh, I already feel like I've lost the plot here a bit tbh. I'd just have more secondary content I'm highly unlikely to ever actually view and have bought 1000's of mostly used blu rays to add and rip just in the last couple years to the point many could have been gone without.

Speaking for myself, I am not much of a fan of the formula of running shows because of the writing structure, especially those that live on or die out based on their popularity, which is most of them, so I really don't have much for huge storage eating TV show packs, which I assume is the main driver for many. I have boxsets I can't be bothered to rip or want eating up storage and unlikely to ever watch again anyways. Most of my content is movies, documentaries and mini series' which the 160tb keeps up with just fine even at full rips for much of it.
Smart guy. It's nice to have it all at your fingertips, but there is a certain element of data hoarding that goes beyond reasonability. I'm at the point of turfing content I'm never gonna watch (or watch again) before buying more storage, at least for now.

4500 movies and counting, but I figure my average of about 1.5 per day is around 500 a year, which I think isn't unreasonable to have a collection like that to choose from.
