UI Interface Resolution at 1080p way slower than 4k

In an attempt to speed up the animation speed of the poster wall on my new z9x 8k, I tried switching the UI interface resolution from 4k, to 1080p. After the reboot, I was surprised to find that it was significantly slower to scroll through movies, and basically do anything in the poster wall.

Poster view is set to Medium in classic mode.

I even tried resetting to defaults and rebuilding my library from scratch from sources. Still, it's extremely slow.

Switching back to 4k immediately speeds things up again.

I'm on the latest beta firmware, 1.1.47.

This doesn't make any sense to me. What could be happening here?

Funny you should say that. From day one of having this box I found 4k UI to be faster.

Not a clue. The 1080p UI is noticeably faster than 4K.

Did you scroll through once to populate all the posters?

Yes for sure. All posters were populated. Even the main screen where it has all the categories like "TV Shows" "Movies" or "Favorites" is noticeably slower. I don't even have to browse through my movies or TV shows in the poster wall to see it.

Ah, hang on a minute - what's your wallpaper setting in HT?

There's a bug in the 1080p interface that I told the devs about months ago but hasn't been fixed yet where the 1080p interface is as slow as hell if you set the wallpaper to "Follow System Setting".

The workaround is to set to "Custom" and choose the same wallpaper.

Not a trivial bug as using defaults is done a lot!
The workaround is far from intuitive . Strange bug.

I know, it took me a while to figure out what was causing it - as I say, it's been with the dev for a couple of months or so now...

I don't think wallpaper set to system is the default for HT though - I think default is plain grey.

Thank you! I had changed the wallpaper to match system. Setting it to default or custom fixed the performance.
