If you are using USB and HDMI Audio output port for DSD and PCM multichannel and for highbit rate and not the DAC or XLR outputs what advantage does the UHD8000 have over the Z3000 PRO?

Both platforms have equivalent digital audio outputs?

I have both the UHD8000 as well as Eversolo DMP-A6. I did a side-by-side comparison between the two by verifying audio setup. I then disconnected the RCA cables connect to the Eversolo and connected them to the RCA connections on the back of the Zidoo. I then played music that was sourced from my PC via the zidoo app. I then reconnected the RCA cable back to the eversolo rca connections and played music sourced from internal SSD via Roon.

The eversolo sounded more open and airy with great clarity. When playing thru the zidoo, the high end was kinda muddled and held back. I also noticed the default audio profiles are different on each unit. I also noticed the eversolo had a higher volume output than that of the zidoo.

I preferred the eversolo over the zidoo when listening to music and that is why I am keeping my Eversolo unit and will use the UHD8000 for movies only.

    Good Luck

    Well there's your problem!

That's like watching video using an S-Video cable!

seriously?! He used RCA not for video signal, it's for audio DAC comparison.
For truly good comparison you need to use high quality RCA/XLR cables to use the devices DAC locally and not that in the Receiver (using HDMI).

My Eversolo is connected via RCA cable (AudioQuest MacKinzies) to AUX input on my Marantz AV7705 Processor. When I want to listen to music, my C4 remote turns on my system, powers up the eversolo unit and turns off my projector. It then sets my lights in my theater to 30%. I then open my tablet, and launch Roon app. Roon then connects back to my Roon core server located on my HTPC. I then select and play music from the roon app on my tablet.

When I did my comparison with the Zidoo, I disconnected my RCA cables from the back of the Eversolo and connected them to the RCA on the Zidoo. I then had to go into setup in the Zidoo and change the Audio source from HDMI main to RCA/XLR. I then changed to AUX input on my 7705 to listen to music. I then just opened the Zidoo controller app to listen to music via the Zidoo using its RCA analog outputs.

The only way I know how to listen to music and play movies via the Zidoo UHD8000 is to setup 2 profiles. One for music that will change the setup to RCA/XLR, and another one for movies that will change the setup to HDMI-Main for movies. Since Zidoo does not yet have and profile to do this, I will ask my Control 4 dealer tech who can build this into a C4 project profile.

    Your Thoughts

I used Eversolo and Zidoo with Onkyo RZ70 AVR and LG OLED G5.

The Zidoo connect to my AVR with HDMI (AudioQuest) with HDMI CEC for power on automatically and for LG remote control.
But I'm also you to control Zidoo via Logitech Harmony Elite control that do amazing job!

My Eversolo also connect to my AVR but with RCA (AudioQuest) cable and I'm using the Logitech Harmony Elite to control it.
I'm using RCA cable between my Eversolo to AVR for sound because I like more the internal DAC from Eversolo than my AVR.

And I don't have any issues of power on/off the wrong device.

To my ears, the Eversolo internal dac sounded better then the Zidoo UHD8000 internal dac when playing music via its RCA outputs. This may be because of the difference in music profiles in each unit. Not sure, but maybe someone on the forums can answer that. I would assume the opposite since the uhd8000 has newer dac chips installed.

Has anyone else noticed a difference between the two units and would like to share their thoughts.
