I have a hard disk with many movies, each in its own folder, I did a scan and all the movies are visible in the poster wall. If I connect another disk with the same movies in the same folders and use the synchronize from other source function it doesn't work and I get an error.
    What am I doing wrong?

I have some movies but in different formats on different drives. But they still show up under the same movie. For example if i click on the movie batman returns on my poster wall it will show the movie and it's info both 1080p and 4k. As I toggle back and forth between the 2 it shows the pathway at the bottom where they are both located. If you don't see that there is a issue where it's having difficulty finding where it location. You can always delete or re scan and update location and it should update. If all fails delete the location on your add devices. Re scan should fix the issue. Don't use synchronize just rescan or update the file directly not a whole drive re scan. It should put them under same movie or show in poster wall. Keep in mind with shows more than likely will cause way more issues when it comes to duplicates do to the fact zidoo struggle already matching things. Hope helps you out

I have the same Films in two different disc. Do i have to scan both of them? i thought the sync function could avoid that.

Instructions for Synchronise Data from Other Source:

    1. Do not delete your old source(s) from HT!!

    2. Once the old source is disconnected and the new one set up with EXACTLY the same movies etc,
add it as a new source but DO NOT SCAN IT (press <Return> when prompted to scan).

    3. Now select it, press <menu> and choose "Synchronise data from other source"

    4. Choose the old source and the old library will be applied to the new files

    5. Once this is done and confirmed working, you can delete the old source

yes, that's how I do it

The first volume called "Disco Zidoo" is disconnected:

Then i add a new volume called "BLU" whith the same folders and movies and i don't scan it.

    Now
    3. Now select it, press <menu> and choose "Synchronise data from other source"

    4. Choose the old source (Disco Zidoo)

and i have the error "operation failed please try again later" (ist's italian language):

I try many times...all the same. It's possible that only 1 folders or movies named differently can gnerate this error?

I just tested on a Z9X on v6.4.68 and it worked fine.

Are you sure the file/folder structure is EXACTLY the same on the new source as the old one.

Exactly the same. the only difference is the presence of the posters and the "info" file in the movies folders of the first volume which are not in the new one.

I don't think that would matter... But it might...

I just took one of my sources, renamed it so it became invalid in the HT source list and then synchronised the newly renamed folder and as I said, it worked perfectly.

I renamed the hard disk but HT recognizes it as before, i can't try your method. It doesn't matter, I give up.
