Just tested when I set zidoo z9x to tv led DV and hdr to auto mode all DV content is output at RGB 8 bit BT2020 DV. That doesn't seem correct to me??
Yeah that is confusing for sure but fortunately absolutely correct. It has been explained various times on this forum. Look for TV-led versus Player-led. What finally counts is the picture quality you get.
Yes, correct - the 8-bit RGB signal contains the 12-bit 422 Dolby Vision signal by HDMI tunneling to maintain HDMI 1.4 compatibility.
Ok clear. Thanks to you both for the quick and clear answers! Gonna evaluate if I see a difference between the same video content played back in HDR10 with sony's awesome HDR dynamic tonemapping with the new XR processor and DV with tv led and dolby vision dynamic tonemapping which disabled sony's tonemapping ofcourse. I must say I was and still am very pleased with the playback PQ of the zidoo z9x.
