Yes, I did enter it in that manner.

Having a USB plugged into the Zidoo makes no difference.

So I take it that if I have the Samba server turned on in the Zidoo settings, I should be able to browse internal shares on the device? Odd, as I cannot.

    I am on Windows 10.

Yes. So there must be something else going on - @Markswift2003 Any thoughts Mark?

Never tried using local resources with another player - it all depends on paths - I’ve been trying to get the devs to use relative paths in NFOs for years - they nearly managed it but it still includes the parent directory.

So I’m not sure - you’ll have to try it.

There is no problem if both the new and old Zidoo use the same network database, then through - library- restore (from backup file saved by the old Zidoo) - et voila you have all your library on the new one. The last time I did it was on my new Z3000 pro from the old Z1000 pro.
The last one is if you had an internal disk on the old Zidoo and you put it on the new one, everything stays the same. However, if you want HDD to stay on the old Zidoo and be able to find it on the network, then you need - first from the old Zidoo Export data to NFO files, & scan this HDD on the new one Zidoo with preferences - NFO parse default option - prioritize parsing on NFO files.

Ok, I got this one figured out. I created a registry entry for "AllowInsecureGuestAuth" and I was able to access the storage. Didn't want to leave this enabled so I turned on the password in the Zidoo figuring that would fix it. Turn the new key off, but no go. Could not access it. Turned the key back on and I was then prompted for the password. So I just turned the password back off and left the key enabled. No idea why no one else seems to have the issue.

I have read thru pretty much all the threads hoping to find answers to what are pretty basic questions but without much luck. It seems that many of you have been using Zidoo's products for a while and are familiar with the interface and capabilities but I am struggling with quite a bit to finish setting this thing up. Just a couple to start.....

I have quite a few movies/videos that do not have a match. Isn't there a way to manually enter data on title, genre etc.? It appears that if it does not find a match on TBDB you are stuck. Surely there is a way to do this.

Is it possible to create a new genre?

    TIA

Hold down enter/ok and select re-match.

Thanks. I'm not explaining myself well enough. I did that for several hundred movies successfully. The problem is that if there simply isn't a match out there for the video, your stuck. At least I think you are, hopefully I am incorrect. If there is no match to be found, I would think you could enter the information manually. You can modify the data for a movie that you did find a match for; i.e. change the title, the genre etc. I want to be able to do that for one that does not have a match.

If there is no match to be found, what are your options?

You can manually input the name of the movie in the search box and then choose the scrapper from the right hand drop down menu - I have over 1200 movies and have yet to find one that I cant match.

Zidoo will match or not but all files will be there either in whatever category or simply in unmatched group. If you find any missing file, try to rescan the source manually once again.

I appreciate the help Oldpainless. These are videos where there is no match. It does not exist. Might be screen captures of concerts or very niche obscure things. One example, I have a short 30 minute documentary titled "A Brief History of the Hmong & the Secret War in Laos". You are not going to find a match. I want to be able to edit the file and enter the info manually. Surely there has to be a way to do this.

Thanks Visonti. Yes they are sitting there in the unmatched group. 117 of them. There's got to be a way to deal with them if no match exists.

Ah, ok, got you. I'm afraid I only have ever dealt with TV series and Movies, so can't offer any other suggestions.

Then you change the search text until you find a short name matching with any of the DB sources, mostly TMDB.

They do not have a match. No match exists, that's the problem. Is there no way to simply enter the data? You can do so once a match is made, I would hope there is a way to do so if no match is possible.

Аnd so I understand that your files may be some sort of Mouvie or video files which are not on the mouvie or tv database.
Step one - when you are searching in the mouvie database
give a match with a movie that you Don't have and Don't intend to record at a later stage!
Step two - using the webinterface go to - more-modify data.
Now you can give the correct name and information for your file.
Step 3 - Put in the directory of your file image/photo which you want to be poster
Step 4 - Change the poster from PW

For every other file that you procede that sequence you Must set different name
otherwise it will overwrite the old information

Of course!! Simply pick anything so it is now in the poster wall and you can then manually edit. Cumbersome but workable. Why I didn't think of that is beyond me as I was making the point that you can do it once you have a match. Duh!

Thanks! That will get me where I need to go, albeit slowly. Much appreciated.

I want to draw attention to one more feature - when choosing the movie title (which you will later change), choose an older movie that does not have a trailer.
If you choose one with a trailer, regardless of whether you later change both the title and all the other information, the link to the trailer is preserved and it will start when you go to that title.
