Is it still valid for DLA-X7900 ?

After reading this thread I'm still not sure which DV output to use on my LG C4 OLED?

Display/HDR/Dolby Vision Output Mode (if available):
TV Led Passthrough (auto) - this shows RGB 8bit output - why not 10bit?
    Or
LLDV - this shows ycbcr422 12 bits output but LG C4 info still shows 8bit?

What would the right option be? Would RGB 8 bit better since this is handled by the LG processor or LLDV which outputs ycbcr422 with 12 bit output?

You can read the post of @Markswift2003 above where it's explained...
"These settings do not affect DV - DV is always 8-bit RGB Tunnelled for TV Led and 12-bit 4:2:2 for Player Led."

Thanks for replying, so you're saying both are identical in picture quality?

Subject: Question About LLDV vs. TVLED Output on Zidoo with Denon X3800H

    Hi everyone,
I’m new to the forum and have a question related to what smuller76 mentioned. Here’s my setup:

    TV: LG C2
    AVR: Denon X3800H
    Media Player: Zidoo Z9X 8K

I have the Zidoo Z9X connected to my Denon X3800H, and I’m using LLDV (Low Latency Dolby Vision) on the Zidoo. The Denon and Zidoo both report an output of 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:2, and everything looks great.

However, when I switch to TVLED Dolby Vision, with the Zidoo still connected through the Denon, the output changes to 8-bit. I know the general consensus is that there shouldn’t be a visible difference between LLDV and TVLED since both follow the Dolby Vision metadata, but to my eyes, there’s a subtle improvement with LLDV (YCbCr 4:2:2).
I’ve tested this using multiple movies, and LLDV consistently seems to give slightly warmer colors compared to TVLED. For context:

    • I’m using the same Dolby Vision mode on my LG C2 (Cinema Home).
    • HDMI Deep Colour is enabled, and all settings are consistent across tests.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a technical reason for the difference in color warmth between LLDV YCbCr 4:2:2 and TVLED 8-bit, or could it just be placebo? I’d love to hear your thoughts or similar experiences!

    Thanks!

My case with LG C3 (HDMI enhanced / Image set as custom user ) is clearly better as TV Led - RGB-8bit than LLDV. Obviously you don't need to convert to LLDV for a DV enabled TV. You may use LLDV for all others non-DV contents.
I don't think it may be so different from LG C2 to C3.

Just to clarify—are you saying it doesn’t matter whether the Zidoo Z9X is connected directly to the TV or routed through the receiver? Should the colors remain identical in both setups?
In my case, I have a receiver in the middle, and I’m wondering if it might handle the output differently than the TV does when connected directly. Also, is there really no visible difference between YCbCr 4:2:2 and RGB 8-bit in this kind of setup? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Quick answers for your questions... In my case: No difference in colour output and identical result. No visible difference either you connect direct or passthrough AVR.
    I'm running this chain: Z9X 8K > Denon AVC-X6700H > LG C3.

Thank you very much; that’s really helpful! I’m not sure why there isn’t a noticeable difference between these formats, especially since their names suggest there should be. Either way, I’ll stick with my current settings and enjoy watching movies on this device!

Yes, definitely - They'd fixed the broken "Gamma D" by that model but I think you'd still benefit from the custom gamma.

I recently added a Vertex2 to my setup, and the improvement in picture quality is remarkable. Dolby Vision videos now appear much brighter, with richer colors and more lifelike skin tones. I’m following all the settings you recommended and configured a custom EDID for BT.2020 LLDV. So far, I’m thoroughly impressed with the results. Thank you @Markswift2003, for your guidance!

    Hello everyone,
Thought I post my UHD8k settings based on the experience of others in helping me resolve audio stutter when playing UHD full rips from NAS.

    Equipment ,,
Zidoo UHD8k connected to LG C3 (via hdmi video port)
Zidoo UHD8k connected to Denon AVR (via hdmi audio port)
Zidoo UHD8k connected to NAS running OMV 7 (via gigabit ethernet) with Western Digital drives
UHD rips (full disc backup) using MakeMKV program

*Using ultra speed hdmi cables and Color Setting as Priority YUV422 12 BIT across the board helped resolve my issues.

    Settings as follows ,,
    Wifi - disabled
    Eth connection lights - disabled
HDMI audio port decode - Auto
Local playback - Match frame rate & resolution
3rd party App online playback - Match frame rate & resolution
Display/Resolution: Auto switch to best resolution
Default audio track - English (US)
    Default subtitles - Off
    Online subtitle - English (US)
    Aspect Ratio - Fit (default)
    Display/Color Settings - Priority YUV422 12 BIT
    UI Display mode - SDR
Dolby Vision output mode - TV-LED (looks noticeable better than LLDV)
    HDR output mode - Auto
    Custom EDID - not used
AI image process - not used
    UI interface resolution - 1080p
    Pass-through compatible mode - disabled

    Settings yet to try ,,

HDMI audio port decode - RAW
Local playback - Match frame rate only
3rd party App online playback - Match frame rate only
    Display/Resolution - 3840x2160 / 23.976Hz

Why do you have your Zidoo connected to TV and AVR? Why not simply have Zidoo > AVR > TV?
