I keep the AVR as strictly for audio duty only.

OK but maybe try routing video and audio through one HDMI to your AVR to see what happens

It only makes sense to route audio separately if the receiver/amp is older and can't support certain video modes or maybe has an older HDMI version.

Other than that it makes most sense to use it as an AV switch and connect all sources to the amp and then you only have one HDMI cable to the display.

In reality, it is advisable to route the video signal directly to the TV/projector and the audio signal directly to the AVR with two separate cables to preserve the quality of both signals as much as possible. It is best to avoid unnecessary additional steps of the video signal passing through the AVR before arriving at the screen. And it's the same concept adopted by Bluray players.

Completely agree 'JanGraz' and reason why I purchased this unit for dual HDMI outputs as a long time OPPO user.

Now when i'am using madVR Envy Core in my video chain the best is to let madVR do all upscaling etc.
Is there any combination of settings in Z98K that let the player send native resolution no matter of display capability ?

If not, how to require such functionality ?

Yes, I'd say let the Envy do the heavy lifting.

If you set resolution to Auto that will get the native resolution out the Zidoo (if legal HDMI modes allow) and setting HDR to auto will get native Dynamic Range.

The Envy should have its own EDID to define what inputs it can take regardless of the display capabilities.

Tests showed that it also required changes in HDMI and EDID settings in Envy as well as let HdFury only act as a splitter with "Native" settings, so now it works as wanted

Where can I find Setting on HDMI for video level 16-235 or 0-255 on Z3000pro?

There isn't a setting for HDMI range - it's automatic.

Hi Mark. Appreciate your detailed recommendations for this new model. I'm about to receive an 8K to replace my existing Pro 4K. I believe I understand your section on Backup / Restore. What I'm not clear on is what specific settings I should enable/disable from the defaults on the new model prior to doing a Restore. I've performed your option 3 "Hybrid". I'm assuming that on the 8K I'll need to change the settings for using NFO and artwork to local. In order to prevent the 8K from immediately scanning my films and TV shows after I choose my sources, and trying to obtain data from the internet, can I and should I disable automatic update sources and scan devices? And are there any other settings I should alter prior to running the Restore?

Yes, before you do anything set:

    Preferences/NFO Parse > Priority
Preferences/Use Local Images First > On

Set your scan options the same as they are now (presumably Automatic Update Sources > On and Scan Devices > Off)

Poster Folder > Custom Folder (and leave the location as storage://)

Has anyone here had the opportunity to test an HDfury Vertex 2 with a different Power Supply than the original one (eg. A Sbooster BOTW P&P MKII) ? Any improvements in audio and video?

I got a Vertex2 and really delighted with the original power supply. I’m afraid it won’t be any difference in quality output with a such simple change of hardware.

In fact, I borrowed an iFi power supply, but there wasn't any significant improvement.

I've followed the settings at the beginning of thread and black are not as deep as z9x. Any idea which setting can get deeper blacks?
