New firmware v2.1.25 version for ZIDOO X9S release

Mine was autoupdated via online update to 2.1.28 TODAY!

what i dont understand is Root at OTA???

 

For me, the online update has been downloaded and installed in version 2.1.28
Root ota does not have to be installed (this is probably the root of the system)

Mine updated to 2.1.28 today, really hate the new movie navigation screen! Its so basic and the white background makes my TV look like it has a cheap panel! Also it doesn't fully go to the edge of the screen, there's maybe 1-2mm around the menu which is the movie playing in the background, very distracting!

 

installed fine
quick run thru of Atmos dts x and full coaster rips/mkv rips all working fine via built in player
no clue on HT since i never use it

 

it just look the same with previous firmware
btw for such a long time at last we got a OTA

but i still using the manual update offline

stuck almost 60minutes


forced to power off it then wait for 30seconds and reboot and everything seem fine i hope


got a new HT too

 

hopefully we will also arrive for x10

Can we install a old firmware and go backwards? I really hate the new look menu interface!

 

Somewhere on the forum was a guide on how to do it, but it is not so easy ...

Is Openwrt working properly with this update? I ask those who had a problem with it!

 

i do not use any feature from openwrt except transfering data from my PC to my hdd on X9S and it work well

i just add Big Little Lies complete season2 and same with previous, its bad
only eps#1 got perfect scan result, eps#2 got no cast info, eps#3 only got background image, and the rest got nothing at all

 

A friend of mine just had his X9S updated and is reporting lots of issues like no options to turn HDR off or on (mine does) And no sound for 4K files. He too is looking to revert back to an old firmware.

 

Everything is working fine, HDR setting is on quick settings, and my 4K DTS or Dolby play fine. Stop spreading I know someone friend husband brother said this or that!

 

I'm just reporting what my good friend is saying regarding his experience.

I warned him last night of the update totally ruining the user interface when watching movies and sent him videos of how it looks, he hated it too and said he won't install the update.

But this morning his system auto updated to 2.1.28 lol

I stated in my comment that HDR option is working fine for me.

I like the speed increase in menu navigation and the fix for banding but the new UI is a total deal breaker for me.

Genuinely have no idea how the guys at Zidoo thought it looked better than the old UI.
