Good news HDMI Recording is back
Bad news Just tested video RECORDING ok but audio not being recorded through HDMI IN

 

After Flashing to FW 1.2.20 i OTA updated to FW 2.1.22 beta. No Problems during the udate Process.

First Impression:

PRO´s:
- System Stability and Playback Performance of untouched UHD and HD Contend seems to be improved compared to FW 1.7.8 beta

CON´s:
- Rooting is still not possible. Waitingh for OneKeyRoot for Android 7
- Music Player still crashes during import Process (a useless app from my perspective that should be removed)
- Google Playstore apk not installed

Sidenote:
Please finalize this FW to make it leave the Beta Status and then provide it as a Full image for flashing!

 

Do you solve the problem of copying over the USB port ?

Or throw device out of the window ?

 

Have you seen that in the advanced setting there is an option to separate Video- and Audio Signals on the 2 HDMI Outputs? You might need to adjust both signals coming out of the main HDMI Port.

Main menue/settings/display/HDMI Output -> Main port mode

Then both Video and Audio go through the Main HDMI Port

I know the video/ audio from my camcorder ok. as tried iit with x9s works fine
Just not coming through the x20

You have no Audio at the HDMI IN when recording from external sources?
or
You have No Audio Output when playing Media Files on your x20?

I assume you have already checked yut cables, connections, Mute Buttons etc.?

Changed all HDMI leads, bypassed amp gone straight to tv HDMI input. again made sure output is Main port.
Still the same no sound going into x20 only video
Faulty firmware ???

 

...on my x20 with FW 2.1.22beta i have not Problems with Audio at all. Therefore it cannot be the Firmware IN GNERAL.

I would recomment to try a clean installation:
- Backup your Data/Media
- Do a clean installation with theoriginal Flash Image of FW 1.2.28
- Then do the OTA Update to FW 2.1.22beta

Are you saying that you have recorded sound and video through HDMI IN from something like a camcorder ?

 

....sorry, NO. I should have been more precise in my statement!
I have no Audio Problems At All during my Application. Wich are: Media Playback of MKV and uncompressed BD and UHD´s from a NAS Drive trough SMB. The x20 is connected to a Marantz AVR with a HDMI Cable using the Main HDMI Out for Video and Audio. HDMI on the x20 is set to RAW. Signal goes out as bitstream and the AVR correctly decodes it as Dolby..., DTS.... Atmos, whatsoever.

 

I also have no problems with playback of music,movies, homemovies recorded to pc then transfered to x20. the problem is HDMI IN NOT RECORDING AUDIO. It records video fine.
Any other users out there that can try to record from HDMI IN I would like to hear from them

I just installed this and here's some quick reflections after trying it for about 15-20 minutes,

Very happy to see that the subtitles now remembers the last used settings for size, position etc. and this was my main wish for the new FW. I am also glad to see that we can now select which source to use for scraping.
My second request was referring to nr 28 in your list, namely that selecting local image for fanart did not work and this still does not work for me. However, it only affects the backdrop image for a movie or TV episode but not the movie cover art which works fine adding from local.

Overall, i am happy with this update and will do more testing soon.

Oh, sorry for misleading message.

Just confirmed with engineers that HDMI -IN could record video and audio for new firmware now, but please note it could only record pcm audio.
