I just tried it on the UHD3000 and it works great! But where did you find it?

 

So far, seems like a big improvement over ht4.

 

Change something graphically and some icons. For the rest it seems identical to HT4

 

Loading speed of posters is very different to ht4....

 

Explain better...Is there a version of Music player 8 for RTD1619DR?

Do you find it slower or faster?

 

Don't know, but there isn't a ht5 for the dr range yet either.

On the new 8k range, zidoo have updated to music player 8....don't know if it's in the bpd range yet.

 

Yes, yes, I knew this. I understood that there was a Music player 8 apk file to install on the various RTD1619DR

 

I've not seen one, yet anyway.

 

Very anxious to try HT5 and am glad to read that it offers speed improvements. I downloaded the .apk and sent it to a drive attached to my Z9X.
The next time I fire up my HT, I'm assuming that I just need to navigate to it in the file explorer app and click on it?
Does it simply update the HT app and use the same data or do you have to rescan your library or anything?
I believe we are supposed to be getting a final firmware update from ZIDOO that will include HT5... Any thoughts on how loading this may affect that?

 

Can't comment on ht4 to ht5, as I use ZDMC.

I used the apk installer programe.

The good - massive speed boost for poster loading once they are cached,

Not so good - trailers are pot luck if it works or not (and if it does work, its takes around 20 seconds for the trailer to start), TV series and episode matching.

Sill, it's an improvement, but I'll stick with ZDMC for the time being.

 

As I've said many times here and elsewhere, I totally get the anger directed at ZIDOO for not delivering on many of the features promised...but for me, This box has done EVERYTHING I need it to do... I have no need for BD menus and I NEVER watch trailers...My only WANT would be for the poster wall to be faster and more reliable at loading...

If what you are reporting is true, then I will indeed have everything I need and want in a media player..

I'd have no need to upgrade to the 8K....but I probably will..LOL

 

No anger at Zidoo from me at all (as @Markswift2003 will tell you, I'm a big fan).

I come from a background using a HTPC with madvr, and the z1000pro has been a fresh of freshair! For me, it's all about media playback and quality, and for it just to work (stability, no dropped/repeated frames etc etc).

I just prefer to use ZDMC as the visual wrapper for the zidoo player.

 

Unfortunately, on the new firmware as before there is no option to use search in languages other than English, as the built-in keyboard does not switch to another language in HT5 and MP7

 

This is signed by Zidoo, so you should just be able to upgrade. At the time. I had uninstalled ht 4 via adb shell since you cannot do that from apps on the rt1619xx. This is same version as UHD5000 Z2600 Pro. It is noticble faster with larger libraries once cache is stuffed again. Nice color badges for codecs and media flags.

UPDATE - the more I play with ht5, the more I like it.....If only they could just fix trailers.

UPDATE 2 - after more time with ht5, trailers now seem to be working fine in the main video info view. NIce.
