    Hi there,

I have Z10 Pro and was wondering if there was a way to disable DV on an mkv backup and just play HDR10 layer to compare to DV.

I used F9 as an example, but it always triggers DV and I can't check HDR10. Is there a way to disable DV playback?

I tried setting to HDR10 vs auto but it froze the picture.

    Thanks!

If you mean setting HDR to "Mapping HDR10" there's absolutely no reason that shouldn't work for a properly ripped Profile 7 DV MKV.

But as @thaworn R says, the best solution is to load a custom EDID.

For HDR10 versus DV most are (very) convinced that DV is better but for HDR10+ versus DV it is much more a matter of taste and may be varying with the movie mastering.

Yes, I agree. Using my Vertex2 utilising a similar EDID, allowing me to switch between DV and HDR10, I find it difficult to see the differences. I'm using a Samsung (non-DV) so I'm actually comparing Player-Led LLDV vs HDR10. So whether this means actual DV is better than HDR10, I don't know because I have no means to test.
