Differences between Android and iOS app

There seem to be some (rather significant) differences between the Android and iOS app. I am an Android user myself. What I have seen on this forum until now:
    • iOS app has a list with alphabet letters on the right of the Artist/Album etc. view which greately eases the scrolling user-experience especially with long lists. The Android app does not have that.
    • iOS app has landscape mode. Android does not have that. I have even seen in another thread that Eversolo says this is not a priority and there are more important issues to solve first.
The two points above are (in my opinion) large differences in user-friendliness between the iOS and Android apps and this subject seems underexposed on this forum.

I am getting the impression (correct me if I am wrong) that the iOS app gets more development priority than the Android app. Maybe in the US the market percentage of iOS is huge, but in the rest of the world Android is more popular. So I dont't see why iOS seems to get more 'love' (and features) from the Eversolo development team than Android. May I ask the development team or @mirror what the reason is behind these differences?

I also saw in another thread there seems to be a Mac app and not a Windows app (am I correct here?).

If other users noticed more differences between the iOS and Android app, please state them below and let me know what you think about this. Or maybe I am just plain wrong and seeing ghosts?

    Too late...
I told you... it largely depends on the OS.

What about, for instance, if the default Android LIST graphical component didn't provide (automatically) an alphabetical selector like iOS does? This does not depend on the developers...

I may be wrong, of course in my assumptions, but being a developer for 45 years my brains spawn checks with many possibilities at once... we'll get there.

    Yep too late :)

I am aware it depends on the OS. It is not really a complaint (btw I am a developer for 40+ years also, mainly Windows I must admit), but an observation. Also the response of Eversolo (in another thread) triggered me. They stated that landscape in Android is possible, but not a priority. While it already exists in iOS. Also I have seen a lot of other Android music apps where the alphabetical selector is present.

So I think the points I mentioned should be possible/doable in Android too.

My basic concern is that the iOS app seems to get more priority than the Android app. Of course my impression may be false, but I thought it would be interesting to hear the opinion from others (of course including you) and from Eversolo on this.

Maybe the iOS UI components allow for an easier / automatic rearrangement of the visual components, requiring therefore less effort from the devs...? I don't know, stopped myself development in Android / iOS long ago... but it could be.
I do not think iOS is receiving more attention, being the A6 based on Android itself...

There you have a point. Duh.. I did not consider that ;)

It is unfortunate but it is not because iOS has more priority. I mean, the A6 itself runs on Android.

And there is no app created specifically for Mac. Someone has tried installing the same iOS version on Mac and it works although the UI all messed up of course. I’m sure it even surprised Eversolo.

Anyway I agree they should get the apps in sync.

Aha. I already wondered how that might have been possible.

Me too. I wish them luck though. There must be a tremendous amount of work on their plate.

Nobody told the app was for Android. You can find it on Google and Apple store.

I'm saying you can get on Google or Apple. Do you need another image for Google?

Oh my God, you think I don’t know that? Seriously?

Obviously you don’t even understand the discussion.

I see a lot of this kind of posts on this board, people need to read the entire thread or at least a few posts up otherwise you’ll be replying out of context like the above.

Or perhaps it’s just that there’s a problem of understanding English.

You’re still going on about this?

You don’t know what I know then why did you have to reply?

No you don’t understand, if you do you will not reply with nonsense.

PS: So he assumed I don’t know about the apps, I wonder how I operate my A6. And how I have been talking about the apps even lol.

Please people, READ AND UNDERSTAND BEFORE YOU REPLY WITH CONDESCENDING TONE.

    DO NOT USE CAPS.

People are here to learn. Many just know the essential, maybe you are aware of that.

"PS: So he assumed I don’t know about the apps, I wonder how I operate my A6. And how I have been talking about the apps even lol". Why would you? I don't assume anything, you do.

Is there a possibility that iPad has achieved greater commercial success than Android tablets, with more users:D
Anyway, the horizontal version of the Android tablet will definitely come

You got me there :) but, admit it, you left out the phones :D.

Anyway, I did not mean to criticize your hard work. I can see how responsive the development team is and how enormously complex the task must be to develop the software for different operating systems for this new product.

Thanks for your response and looking forward to the new developments.

    P.S.
Many of you probably don't know that the Macs can play iOS apps, because the processor is the same, (or compatible one) hence the code.
It's something like all the phones were based on x86 / x64 Intel processors, as our desktop computers are... so no wonder an app from the store can actually run on a modern (M1 / M2) Mac.

That's correct. I'm running the Eversolo iOS app on my Mac. Works great!
