I played around for a while over the weekend while there was some live cricket on the TV. Even on the lowest settings I was able to see some artefacts on fast moving stuff and also around the players when they were on the field in long shots. It wasn't completely distracting and I do sit fairly close to a 77inch screen but I decided to leave the AI stuff off.
Oh dear, I'm an idiot. Please ignore, I've had a new screen delivered recently which also has an AI option and that's what I was experimenting with. Really shouldn't post here when I've been supping cider
Hi, I've ben testing it a little bit. To my opinion, the PQ one is to keep off (changes colors saturation, adds unsharp mask and also removes too much grain detail at higher levels), but I'm keeping the Super Resolution one at low level for now: on 1080p it seems to help a little bit without notably downsides.
Personally, I have been using the two 'low' ones for several days.........but on the other hand on my diffusers I have lowered the sharpness by several points! And I find the image not bad at all!
Do you have to change Match frame rate AND resolution to "Off" in order to use/test any of the AI settings? OR can you keep Match Rate AND Resolution "On" and still be able to use/test the AI settings? Reason I ask is the UHD8000 manual on p.44 says to set both Match frame rate and resolution "Off" in order to use them...
I have deactivated everything, even in the TV, although there is also a learning function for AI there, images are shown from which you have to select the best one (by feeling), and the AI then uses this as a guide. But I don't want AI to fiddle with the picture. It should be displayed natively and nothing else.
It's great for my DVD'S that I've upscaled to 1080p. Also American Horror Story looks Next Level with AI on. it's breath-taking.
