Android 7.0 is coming out and has support for native enhanced PIP capabilities. Will the X9S be updated to support the new OS once it is released? http://www.androidcentral.com/android-70-brings-better-dvr-features-and-picture-picture-android-tv
The question is: will Android 7 be available on the X9S via an update ? If so, it will not create compatibility problems with Kodi, the app, and all on the X9S ?
Have another box running with Android 7 on it. No KODI runs just fine on it. Yes, some APP's still need to be updated for 7 compatibility. No, no advanced PIP or Split-Screen features on it yet (the real 7 new goodies for big screens).
Doubt it considering the current Android 6.0 firmware hasn't quite lived up to it's potential. Neither is there an economic benefit to Zidoo large enough to do so. They make money by selling new boxes, not upgrading old ones. Nvidia's Shield TV box isn't just a hardware buy. They sell access to games and partner with content providers to make streaming from traditional sources (ie, legal ones selling content) possible. The revenue streams support OS upgrades. Zidoo doesn't have that business position.
