Sneaky little update to add Squeezebox support....which Roon also supports! Additional workaround for Roon users for up to 24/196 PCM. I see all meta data except for album art. I've never used Squeezebox before - should I see album art?
Thanks for this update, keep improving, keep developing and did I see a balance function up to 192 kHz? Would be great!
hello!! Happy New Year! the new firmware DMP-A8 v1.2.70. has a feature: DMP-A8 Added analog output volume pass-through function. how does this function work? Where can I set it up? Thanks for the answers!!
Thanks for the update! EQ feature on A8 only works for digital outputs? Then I’ll need to use another DAC to make it work
@Lars M Hi, does it mean, if i install the new 1.2.70 Beta at my DMP-A8 the Digital Outputs (Coax, SPDIF, I2S) will not work anymore? So i can't use an external DAC for example? Thanks for help and clarify.
I made this update two days ago. I connected the TV to the optical input and a Mac Mini to USB and I didn't encounter any problems.
My bad. Digital outputs work when source is active (playing). Then shuts off when you stop playing. In my case that refers to the optical out and internal player. A bit strange IMO.
Thanks for the update: Since installing this beta version I get a high frequency noise from the I2S output into my Denafrips Terminator 2 DAC. This happens after the unit is powered on from standby. If I power cycle the unit with the rear switch and restart, the noise goes away and I can play music for several hours and it doesn't return. If I power off and put the unit in standby, the noise returns the next time I power up. USB output is ok, I haven't tried coax. Has anyone else experienced this issue? @mirror
Yes, I've tried both pinout options and the issue shows up on both settings. I guess my next step will be to revert back to original settings to see if the issue is still present. Perhaps I have a hardware issue with the A-8? @mirror - has this issue been reported by anybody else?
There doesn't seem to be a way to revert to the original firmware to see if this issue is hardware related - @mirror - can you kindly confirm if there is a way to revert? @mirror
