After a period of non-use (not sure how many hours), my UHD8000 goes into standby. The power button turns red. Its not a reboot since when I power on again using the remote control it goes right into the player.
I don't want my machine to go into standby. How do I control this. By the way, I am using the latest beta, the G version.

Just to be sure, make sure if you have another Zidoo player nearby and you are controlling both with 2 bluetooth remotes that you are not turning off both players without knowing. I noticed both my bluetooth Zidoo remotes power off both players when I press the power button on any remote. I don't know why it does that since bluetooth is synced to only one player but it does. Maybe it picks up the IR even if I don't have good line of sight of the players somehow.

Possibly another remote with the same code set? Zidoo uses an NEC set and I seem to remember someone with a sub a couple of years ago that used the same having similar problems.

I have an 8000 on test that I leave switched on and it's certainly never goes into standby by itself.

im also having the same problem.but with a Z3000.intermittently(happened twice and i had the player for a week) the player goes into a sleep? mode, the front power button light turns red.
if 1 manually press the power button to turn z3000 on , i then can view my movies but they wont play.i have to reboot z3000 to get it to work.
i have the z3000 in a rack in another area of my house and control it thru control4.and my control 4 does not send any off/standby IR codes.CEC is off.
maybe there is a setting that i havent noticed to keep the z3000 on at all times?

my z3000 replaced my old z9x pro and th9x pro never gave me this problem.

I don't think that's the reason, but you still have to rule out this possibility :

Is your rack well ventilated ?

In your rack, does the player have enough space between it and the device below ?

If there is a device just below, have you made sure that it is not an amp or any device with a ventilation
grill on the top that releases significant heat ?

These questions are to make sure that your Zidoo does not turn off due to thermal protection...

thanks for the reply.ventilation in rack seems good , normally 86F on average in use.there is 1u space above and below z3000.the z3000 seems to shut off mostly when not in use like in a day or so.ive owned it for possibly 2.5 weeks and it has shut down 4 times.i will keep an eye ou the units temp.

After a day or two without use ?

But why leave it On for so long continuously, especially if it is not to be used ?

It is not at all designed to stay On permanently.

Normal use involves leaving it On standby between two spaced moments of use.

I don't know why it turns off like that, but even if it integrates network and server functions,
I am almost certain that it is not designed to stay On permanently.

6.33 watts when "on".i leave it on at all times so if at any random time i want to watch a movie i dont have to wait for the zidoo to boot up and wait for it to connect to my NAS. i have done this for the past 3 gens of zidoo with no issues.i always replace them with current.

Never had this problem with my Z2000 pro. Left this machine on all the time and never an issue.

i rebooted the zidoo and 24 hours later without use it went into a standby mode.the display disappeared and the power light on the power button turned red.
pressing the power button turns the zidoo back on and i can navigate thru all my movies and menus but no movie will play for 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
hopefully in the future there is a patch to turn standby "off".

I have the same problem since I have had this machine. Is there any chance there might be a fix in the near future?

It's been raised as a bug.

By the way, when this happens, you should reboot using the Power app or toggle the back switch on and off since whatever induces the standby also introduces other instabilities into the system and switching back on with the remote does not clear these.
