A comment - both Mozilla Firefox and Chrome objected to downloading the file. Had to override the block on both. Malwarebytes reports the file is OK

Probably because it's not https - Edge does the same but you can override.

Yep all good here, much quicker to load the poster wall. Great to still be getting updates :)

Trailers are working and I also got my runtime back so thanks for that.

But honestly now I`m not so sure if it was missing or just took forever to load?

Those "buttons" that say Dolby Vision, Dolby Digital, HDR and so on, along with the runtime take their time to appear, which hasn`t been the case in HT4, the version I used untill scraping didn`t work anymore and I therefor applied the fix, which installed HT5 on my Z9X.
For some movies it just pops up right away, others take a few seconds and the rest sometimes takes like 30 seconds or longer.

Any idea what is causing that? There`s just a such noteable difference that I can`t be the only one experiening this.

This is to do with the way MediaInfo is handled.

Previously, as long as you had "Analyse MediaInfo" ticked in HT preferences, the MediaInfo data was scraped and held in a JSON string in the VIDEO_INFO table for each video.

If you didn't tick Analyse MediaInfo then this data was populated at runtime.

This data has now been moved to its own table called MEDIAINFO and again, the JSON strings are populated when you scrape as long as you have the box ticked.

Unfortunately it seems that the JSON data in the VIDEO_INFO table isn't copied across to the MEDIAINFO table when the app is updated so this data can now only populate at runtime - ie, when you access the poster. But once it's been done once, the data is in the database and MediaInfo no longer needs to be called.

In order for MediaInfo to access this data at runtime (remember, this only needs to happen once) the file must be available, and if it is, it happens almost instantaneously so as a user you might notice a few milliseconds delay, but it's not an issue at all and in fact those few milliseconds are taken up by the animation, so you don't really notice.

The problem lies if the video file is not immediately accessible - for example if the drive is asleep - in that case, mediaInfo scraping will take as long as it takes for the drive to wake up and so the badges take that long to appear too. And to reiterate again, this only has to happen once. Once it's in the database, it's in the database.

The only way I can think to totally get around all this is to rescrape the library - I just tried this, and can confirm that in that case the MEDIAINFO table is populated as normal (again, as long a Analyse MediaInfo is ticked).

    Well, you did ask....:D

Thank you. Wondering why scraping failed yesterday.

Thank you so much for this detailed information, now I at least know what´s cooking, even if I don`t understand every word you wrote.

Nevertheless, thank you so much for the detailed explanation, I really appreciate it and I did notice, once the info was there it did pop up immediately and I had a presumption that the data has to be "gathered" if I look at a new file, so to speak.
Looks like that presumption was correct, now I can be proud of myself, well at least a little bit. :)

That`s what I did as a work-around but it isn`t a really good solution when you always have to wait untill the pop-up shows up.
It`s of course simply more comfortable to have all the data, especially the runtime, just displayed when looking at a movie.

But thanks for your reply. :)

    Hello everyone!
I updated my UHD 3000 player.
But the icons/widgets found in the packs on this site have become very large!

How can I get them back to normal size?
It's a shame because I love the look.

    Thanks!

You can't, they went for the layout of the newer devices.
You will find some newer ones when you search for "HT5 widgets"

I don’t have an explanation but since forever most files when you load them into the Zidoo all the information comes up immediately whilst a few always require a press on the More button. Same with update meta data menu item.

I have the "Show path in detailed view" poster view preference enabled, and it seems now that the path doesn't always update as I navigate from episode to episode of a TV series. If I step from episode to episode slowly then often it doesn't update, but if I hold the left/right arrow to quickly navigate to another episode, then where I stop will update. If I choose "More" then it does always seem to show the correct path and media info. A similar thing can happen when stepping between multiple versions of a movie too.

So I have to install the HT5 for TMDB fix first then install this update?
