Zidoo Z9X - Static Images When Context Switching

I'm running into a situation where I have a Zidoo Z9X hooked up to an LG OLED65C6P. The cabling between the OLED and the Zidoo is an extremely reliable optical run from fibercommand.com. With that being noted, when switching content from 4k DoV/Atmos over to 1080p stereo, I'm noticing that the box seems to have a state issue when dealing with particular videos and will then produce a static image for all video feeds forward. The static video will not be produced for the menu in any way, just the video playback content.

I've used an HDFury Arcana 2 to grab some of the input specification with the only thing in the stack being

Zidoo Z9X -> Arcana 2 -> LG TV + Sonos Arc

The _Static file is what the Zidoo is issuing out when the static problem occurs. As you can see the outputs all match when the issue does not occur, the ARCANAEX.txt file (also making me believe there's a bug in the Zidoo software stack).

The _Context_swift file is the content switching back and forth between the ARCANAEX regular file.

When going through a proper reboot cycle with the Zidoo, everything seems to start working again until context Switching.

Is anyone aware of this issue? Is this fixed in beta updates? This is my first day/experience with the Zidoo Z9X and I hit this pretty quickly.

 

Does this happen if you connect the Zidoo directly to the LG using a standard HDMI cable with nothing else in the chain? - ie, no Arcana, no Sonos.

It looks like the the display is maintaining sync (possibly due to the Arcana) but losing signal - a logical process of elimination is needed but I've certainly never see anything like this and can't recall anyone else reporting it, so definitely not a know bug.

 

I was able to replicate the issue with the Sonos Arc + Arcana being removed from the equation. The issue itself was not corrected until the Zidoo itself was rebooted. Currently, I'm seeing an issue with multiple 1080p playbacks on the Zidoo exclusively after previously playing back something in higher resolution/HDR like formats.

A proper reboot of the Zidoo and going straight into the 1080p videos also works as expected every time.

For context, I'm currently switching between The Martian (DoV + Atomos) and some Anime videos (Goblin Slayer + others). This replicates the issue almost every single time. Sometimes it's static, other times it's odd visual artifact overlays.

As for other client playback devices, this issue has not existed with any of them (HTPC, Apple TV, NVIDIA Shield, PS5, etc etc)

I do have one particular video that might have some level of corruption/issues. It works perfectly find on all other playback devices but seems to trigger this state every single time with the Zidoo.

 

Have you tried a standard HDMI cable?

I understand what you're saying about the fibre optic one, but at the end of the day it has to convert the signal and the display in conjunction with the Zidoo may have an issue with that.

So Zidoo > Standard HDMI > Display and see if it still does it. As I say, process of elimination, which means eliminating every variable.
