Hello. I am interested to buy Zidoo Z9X PRO but would like also FEL to be supported. Will it be rolled out as a firmware update or you will release a new box? Thanks!
FEL is not supported, nor can it be because the SOC doesn't have a second HEVC decoder. There are no plans at present for FEL support. The only SOCs I know that support it are from AMLogic and I believe Dolby do not allow FEL decoding for media players in the SDK so we're at a bit of an impasse at the moment. To be honest, Dolby Vision is such a mess at the moment that it's debatable whether it's worth the hassle any more.
