hi there - I am a proud new owner of the Z20pro and I love it. I am trying to configure it to my existing Elan/NICE home automation unit so that I can start all of my Home Theatre systems at a press of a button. Is there a way I can do this? Doing some online research, it seems Android boxes like the Showman Driver could possibly do this - but wanted to see if this is the case, or if there are alternatives. thanks kindly
There's an IP protocol, an RS232 protocol and of course IR so it can be integrated into pretty much any CI system. RS232 is the only one that supports true discrete power on/off commands but IP supports powerOff and WOL so is easily doable and IR has a power toggle plus discrete off (no discrete on for some reason) so is achievable with a bit of logic. Personally I use RS232 (with Crestron) and it's bomb proof.
