Hello All, Let's look inside the beast (X20 PRO)... we notice that the manufacturing quality is excellent,
update of my review with FW 2.2.85 Zidoo is like a fine wine, it improves over time! I'm going to repeat myself but.... Zidoo provides excellent value for money, this does not come from me but from the owners of zappiti or Dune multimedia boxes that offers similar performance for twice the price or more... and who return to Zidoo. Currently I use the X20 pro with the new FW 2.2.85, ( and for your information I also use an Apple TV 4K with infuse pro 6 and i can compare both devices). I just changed my TV, I have a Sony AG9 OLED 77 '' and the PQ is fantastic with the X20 Pro (in fact with all zidoo RDT1296). --------------------------- - I do not see any color banding on my movie (The martian movie for example) - About the scrape with HT 2.0, it is very very fast and finds 99% of my videos - Additional options to best manage the HDR format - BD menu support is working properly and it seems to me that the loading is faster than before. --------------------------- In my humble opinion, what is missing at Zidoo / HT 2.0 (it is not a dealbreaker) : - Posters with better resolution / quality, those of infuse are superb. - Navigation between each posters more softer / faster. For everything else, HT 2.0 offers additional features, supports more audio format is better. See you My settings with FW 2.2.85 The settings above are perfect for me, but that does not mean that they will suit you.
Does the X20 pro have an improved audio player (outside of the ZMDC) that allows browsing by artist, album, genre, etc. Can ZDMC handle dsd files and bitstream to an AVR via HDMI?
Hi all, I received my X20 PRO today, i pre-ordered the X20 pro last week (649 USD) and it was delivered today by DHL. Like for other Zidoo products, the X20/PRO is very very well protected. The box containing various cables, wifi antenna and remote control. There is a user manual in English Remote Control (Bluetooth / Infrared / Three-in-one / backlight button) and the X20 PRO... The audio / video output, the X20 is complete, hard to do better. the sides of the X20 seems designed to improve the heat evacuation ------------------ VFD Zidoo uses the same model as on the X10, it's a good choice in my opinion
How about your custom clearance and duty tax for Canada? I had to pay an extra 200 euro to get it past the European Union So this makes the total price almost exact the same as the forthcoming Dune Ultra
Hi all, Little disappointment and message to Zidoo. I do not expect any answer from you, and here is my first opinion about the X20 / PRO, it will evolve with time and future FW. You have delayed the X20/PRO several months last fall and even more days last month to improve the software part...and I trusted you. I understand that the device does not have the latest update when we unpack it, but at least you could have prepared a FW with the latest fix and make it available on the forum Zidoo for new owners of the X20/PRO and it is the same thing for HT 2.0, I'am back to my X10 with the FW 2.0.25 /HT 2.0 V1.5.8. I've always been happy with Zidoo devices and i'm so sorry, but for a high-end product this is a botched job. Best regard, OlivierQC
I don't know why i'm not so surprised. Only few hours ago i wrote what i think about Zidoo's production line in the X9s section. So many boxes (x8,x9s,x10,x20,x20pro)...So much identical in the daily use...that it's not possible perceive a Real extra value from a X20pro against a x8 that costs only 80 euro. The X8 is a best buy that i suggest to everyone....from the X10 up (that i got and returned) i really can't see their reason to be. I asked on their fb page at least the Dolby Vision capability for their new flagship...that would have been a valid reason to replace a X8.
Dolby Vision wont happen due to cost and testing and Dolby being real choosy who has it . But no streaming device with usb has it as such . You need $$$$$ to have it . Only device poss maybe the Shield tv but thats a big if .
Early days OliverQC always new it take time for Zidoo to do catch up Look at the Dune 4K many issues on there new product . How long did it take the X10 to get to where it is now . Im sure there will be updates and they will sort out the Zidoo home page downloads section .
I understand it but it would be fine for me to spend 500/600 euro to get dolby vision capability. Owning an excelent x8 that costs 80 euro, that has the same video quality of the x20pro....knowing that i m obliged to own a pc because the torrenting service works fine...why should i buy this already old new box? Old cause in 1 year we Will have hdmi 2.1 so...how many people Will be really interested in 2 hdmi input when still now the hdmi 2.0 is so implemented?
Same Video Quality we cant say yet as no one has tested the difference It has more memory so more fluid in opperation / playback etc Some may want for xlr output Want more hard drive storage for movies ( as in one unit no usb drives attached) It has a diff layout os look I cant see at moment any streaming box getting Dolby vision £80. Or £600 or £1000 As said unless your company Nvidia has $$$$$$ to pursuade Dolby to .
