Does anyone know the correct forum for Neo alpha questions and concerns ? All my mp4 local trailers play well. Mkv trailers seem to buffer or lag. Network is super fast and all hard wired.

    Moved to correct forum.

Most of my trailers are MP4 but I've had to edit a few and those are saved as MKV and play no problem.

So it's not the container. Maybe the codec or bitrate? Although local trailers now use the same player as content, because it's presented PIP the mechanism is different.

Can you post a MediaInfo report?

I’d be happy too. What’s the best way to do that from a Neo alpha?

Every file type I have plays great. I really only notice this issue on mkv trailers that are ripped from a disc. Most of the time these files are 500mb-1Gb. I have now noticed it on mkv ripped trailers that are as low as 160mb. All mp4 trailers play smooth as can be.

Ah - no need for a media info report (for future reference, see this link: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo).

I think it's possibly because they're high bitrate HEVC (h.265) files - bit too heavy for the way trailers work.

Mine are usually less around 50MB and are all AVC (h.264) files.

I tend to get them from here:

or Rotten Tomatoes is a good source too using a video downloader plugin for Chrome.
